That's an interesting point for me. No doubt there are better managers out there, but is there a better "fit" right now?

City have a plan for the way forward, and LJ appears to have bought into this plan 100%. Whereas I think most managers are only interested in the here and now (which is fully understandable, as the norm is that they would get the sack if the team doesn't perform), but LJ is happy to look to the long term future of the club.

Clearly this strategy can only work with the backing of the owner when going through bad patches on the field, but LJ obviously has that.
Fair point but I think Moyes would fit like a glove under his good mate Lansdown. That’s the dream.

Doesn't Johnson do this every season? Puts together an impressive run for 45% of the season and then a terrible one for 55% of the season? Did the same at Barnsley and seems to have done it every year at Bristol City.

Probably worth sticking with him in the long run though, still very young in management terms and you would hope he can finally come up with a Plan B when form drops off. Does he have one this year? haven't seen you lot play.
Pretty much yeah.

We have different play styles and are finding different way with of winning but we’re over performing atm, it’ll level itself out unless we sign a top striker/#10 in the Reid/Vydra mould.

We're a very different animal this season SF. We play a more pragmatic style and are nowhere near as gung ho as we were last time around.
Has he learnt from last year? Obviously, we hope so and that remains to be seen but the criticism levelled at him currently is that is can be 'boring'. I kind of get that but the proof is in reading the table I guess.
The fear of another losing run is the big one for me as he hasn't been able to arrest those runs previously, can he do it now, if it started to happen again? We just don't know.

Doesn't SL expect top 6 this year or was that quote made up by someone? LJ has certainly had total support up to now without doubt.

I think 'progress' is what the true expectation is, and we seem to be on track so far........

That's the main thing for me, progress.

Progress for me would be to establish ourselves as a championship outfit.. think a few mid table finishes would be fine with me. Previous managers have seemed to result in us yo-yoing between this league and the 1 below. But the fact that lansdown has stuck with Johnson even through the bad runs suggests he sees stability as key and that sacking every year like alot of other in a do helps nothing.

LJ is doing a great job, especially with the outgoings we had last summer. To put together another spine in the starting eleven and get results is very good going.

I just don’t like the smarmy little c*** though.

Semenyo recalled from Newport. He's off then!
I was Coming here to post about this too!

Seem a strange to recall him unless we've either been so impressed with him whilst on loan that we want him in our first team..

Or that he's off to Chelsea. There's still the possibility that we will play him in the champ and potentially increase his value?

Maybe Jon but who drops out? Would he be better off on our bench or playing at Newport? He's got a fair number of players ahead of him in our midfield to be honest.
I reckon he's off to Chelsea, hopefully as part of a deal for one of the loan players.

He's been quality for us Gassy, had a mare against England though.
Tbh, I'd never heard of the bloke until I kept seeing on facebook that a City player had scored for England. At the time I was thinking f*cking hell they have England players now? I was thinking this bloke from Chelsea was maybe on loan to you or something

Then I saw it was the defender & it did make me smile if I'm honest

Nothing?

It's your club emblem, let's be honest it looks awful

Yep. I'll still use the proper one anyway. How they can take the bridge off OUR badge is beyond me. The new one could be anyone without the writing, the original without any writing is definitely us.

Your bridge :lol::lol::lol:

I actually think it’s better than your old one. I haven’t seen it on the shirt yet but I imagine on a retro shirt it probably looks good. I did see it blown up on your stadium though and it looked awful, too little going on/too much empty space when enlarged

Did I say OUR bridge? I said 'THE bridge on OUR badge' you thick methane snorting chump! ;)
The new one might be a bit shit but it's still better than a gay, morris dancing Johnny Depp wannabe. :)

I’ve completely misread that  some how I read it as ‘OUR bridge’ - although I do keep seeing some nonsense about city fans trying to claim it since it appeared in our video :dk:

I love our emblem, it’s much better & it’s original too :2thumb:

I'll let you off then VL. How you lived with the embarrassment of owning that is totally beyond me though.
Out of interest, did you have a Small heath FC one as well?
It’s an horrible shirt tbf. Even if I had, it wouldn’t have been allowed in the house, so I thought I’d better not waste money buying it :)
