You're the same age as my DadForza old bastards!! Either that or you're pregnant.
I'm officially an old bastard next year (50) and am gonna play on it something terrible.
Ah the 'Swamp'. The only place you can stagger out of without having a drink!!
Never a fan of the place TBH, a 'wipe your feet on the way out' boozer IMHO. A couple of people I genuinely can't stand call it 'home' so I tend to give it a wide berth.
Don't you bloody start! You're the same age as my Dad
And you n all!Same as mine too
absolutely right, the grounds and facilities have improved out of sight, but while theres no romance in a seventies football ground urinal, I do miss the noise, atmosphere and edge of big games in those days. It's not too bad being over 50, for all the banter about being old doddery so and so's at least we had the best years of football, a time when the fan actually meant something to players, a time when players didnt think they were above the guys paying their wages, a time when players could tackle without the opposing player acting as if he been run over by a bus, players not wearing gloves etc because it may be a bit chilly outside.
Yes grounds are better now, facilities are better and the football technically has improved, but has the experience improved from what it was when we were kids, I think not.
As a youngster of a mere 53 years I'd 100% agree with this!!!absolutely right, the grounds and facilities have improved out of sight, but while theres no romance in a seventies football ground urinal, I do miss the noise, atmosphere and edge of big games in those days.
I'll campaign for a Gerry Gow smiley for you seniorsBlimey, there's more of us old 'uns than young puppies on here! Rich (old parkender) I knew about but the ages of the rest of us is quite refreshing.
We'll have to have a good bitch about the 'youngsters of today' soon and bringing back national service now we're too bloody old to do it!
JJH, Mr moderator Sir (bows politely) can we have an 'old git' smiley please?

You need to check your maths mate, 35-20=15 while 49-35=14. You're still a young 'un though.Despite being 35, so closer to City169 than ciderup, thank you very much I was still lucky enough to go in the late 80s, so remember the terracing, the anti Thatcher chants and the reduced ticket price for the unemployed fan.
Whilst modern stadiums are great, and football itself a lot safer, there was something about how it was when I very first started to go to games. Could be the memory playing tricks on me, but I'm lucky I caught some of it.

That's why we loved him though. He should have scored at least 3 at Anfield but he did score at the county ground so we'll let him off.I blame the falling standard in education
At least the young uns didn't have to witness Juniour Bent's attempt at finishing.

1953 was a vintage year, 2months younger than you so probally went on the same trips -arsenal, Coventry etc and yes they could be fun.You think you lot are old........I will be 63 next month so I remember the 70's and 80's only too well.
Away games could be quite an adventure in those days.
I'm just glad it's not like that now..............................I can't run !!!
Oh you poor babber. 25I'm going on the 1/4 century mark this year, body feels older though
