Aye a lot has changed in 5 months, I know realise how much Tammy carried you.
Yes it has, and it's Tomlin that carries us. Him and Kodjia dragged us out of the shit last season, and we were at our best this season when he was playing well. Since then he's been in/out of the side and it's no surprise it's all gone to shit.

Isn't Tammy supposedly out long term? I guess it would be Djuric in his place plus unless Matthews remembers he's supposed to be a footballer or Vyner is ready and we play 4-4-2?

Yeah Tammy in the side was on the assumption his scan comes back okay, he's having the scan back at Chelsea with no real indication atm. No idea about right back, I think Johnson will go with Vyner over Matthews unless Matthews gets back to full fitness.

Bullshit does Tomlin carry us, he has a good game every 2 or 3 games and for the remainder he mopes around the pitch and argues constantly when things aren't going his way, on his day he's one of the most unplayable players in the division, when he's not he's probably one of the last players you want as he won't put in a shift, will wait for the ball to come to him and when he has it try to do everything himself.

Oh he does, as I said, since he's been in and out of the side it's all gone to shit.

He had a run this season where he was back to his best and he was at the heart of everything.

Last season he was doing it every week.

Last season is now irrelevant, players on loan often play for a contract and get comfortable, Matthews and Dinning to name a couple. Frankly its been going to shit since October, and Tomlin stayed in the side when it was blatantly obvious we were accommodating him. The problem being he's not at his best often enough. He's scored 2 goals from open play so far this season, its the same amount Freeman scored before his move away and everyone loved to slate him for his lack of goals, Djuric (and maybe Taylor depending on the dubious goals panel decision) have already scored that many since their moves. He's a shadow of the player we had last season.

Just a bit. Our best player by a country mile imo.

How?

Seriously how is he?

I could get on the pitch just avvvvv it the ball every time it comes by me and then blow out my ass for the other 88 minutes

Think you're a bit blinded here. Most skillful for sure but hasn't produced nearly consistently enough. He's been very disappointing this season. Odd moment of brilliance followed by 3-4 games of anonymity. As hodge says our slide started long before he stopped being a regular, and the fact he wanders about doing his own thing is a large part of the reason Tammy is so isolated when they're both playing together

He's only a couple off Forestieri in that bet me and Walkley had, he's not been completely useless. But certainly not a patch on the player we saw last season, and currently I think we're better off without accommodating him in the side.

I'm not saying he's been a revelation this season, nor am I saying we should accommodate a luxury in our current state, but we saw what he's capable of and no-one else in the side is as creative/skilful as he is.

I don't disagree, when he's on it there's few players who can just tear up a defence like he does. But when he's not it's the team that carries him not the other way round, and that's been the case far too often.

Hope he gets his act together, we'd be a far better side if he does, but at the moment we can't rely on him. And that's kind of a problem when he requires a team built around him

Back in October I said that this season mirrors the relegation season, a lot of you said that it didn't, I knew nothing.

February and City are 3pts away from relegation.

I told you so

We had one or two very good games at the start of the season but then dropped straight to the bottom, we got relegated with 41 points, 14 from safety, very different seasons.

Crap football, throwing away leads, clown defending, perpetually miserable Saturday afternoons, a manager that has no clue... Never mind being similar to our last relegation season, this is similar to virtually every season we spend at this level!

Unless you forgot what you put

One or two? Was up there until October

I was just pointing out that we were 15th in September which is hardly 'up there', and we were in the relegation zone in October. October this season we were in the play offs and we haven't yet dropped into the relegation zone this season where I don't think we got back out of it after dropping into it in our relegation season. Also look at the goal differences, so they're hardly the same seasons.

My 2 pennies FWIW. Lee Tomlin is one of the most talented footballers I have ever seen at our club. Last year, he was sensational. This year apart from a few games he has been poor by his own standards and he's admitted that. Against Wednesday, he was excellent when we had the ball but absolutely shocking when we didn't have it.
That's my issue with LT, he leaves the defending to the defenders and they are, at times, badly exposed when he plays. With Jens in the middle of the park now, we can, at times, let LT loose but we aren't really in a position to be able to do that. Jens and Josh / GON / Bobby for me all day long at the mo. At least they join in the defensive work yet can still get forward too. LT just can't physically do it.
Skillwise, he's superb, fitness wise he ain't and that, IMHO, is why he's at City and not in the big league.

I see our own young Jack has been ripped to bits over on OTIB for being a Reading supporter!
Stick on here Jack, far safer for a young 'un.
