Fancy quite a high scoring match here and a pretty good game with both teams fully committed to going for 3 points. Hopefully we can nick it but I'll go for a draw.

Bristol 2v2 sheffield (20,111) (1012 blades).

IF Kalas is fit ( he was taken off on international duty last night), we're alot more solid defensively than we have been for some time,
That said, the Blades are a very good side and, like us, on a decent run so I agree with bm89, scoring draw, 1-1 with the crap winger from Frank lampard's Derby notching for us, again! What a steal he was at £2M.

Maenpaa

Hunt Webster Kalas / Baker Kelly

COD / Watkins Pack Brownhill Eliasson

Taylor / Diedhou Weimann

Nothing against Watkins but I would like to see COD starting. With him on one side and the flying Swede Eliasson (watch out for him) on the other, they would keep any defence busy. Young Lloyd Kelly is another one to keep an eye out for. He's the reason we decided to cash in on Joe Bryan and is going to be some player, just 19 and very good already.

Too fancy a high scoring, good game to watch. Surprised it's not on Sky after our game at BL last year and then the one at AG having a few goals.

Maenpaa
Hunt Webster Kalas Kelly
Watkins Pack Brownhill Eliasson
Taylor Weimann

City 2-3 United (Eliasson 18', Weimann 62') (Sharp 8', Coutts 14', McGoldrick 89')

19,886 (1,086 Blades)

That will do nicely, I can safely say coutts won't be playing though, only having his first u23 game today. We like to score 3 at ag actually , hopefully again.

Change Coutts for Norwood then. Not sure where Coutts fits into your side now so not sure why I said that.... different position to Duffy and Fleck and Norwood are playing well from what I've read.

You coming down for the weekend again?

No not this time , got most of october in Asia, Christmas in canaries and just booked windies for cricket next Feb, funds are at all time low. Coutts won't get back in but its a proper option to come in if we get an injury unlike last season.

Is Asia in October for the Sri Lanka tour or is that in November?

Fair shout, WIndies is a tour I've always wanted to do. My Dad and a few of his colleagues are at The Oval today, doesn't look much fun.

Yes doing the last 2 one dayers in kandy and colombo and the t20 in colombo but going to Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore first. Doing the one dayers in windies too, Barbados, grenada and st Lucia. Can get a bit bored in the same place for too long for tests so I'm going down the one day route at the minute.

Did any of you attend the game against Blades at home when they beat us 1-0 in the 13/14 season, Flint OG? Someone on OTIB mentioned it earlier on, would be a laugh putting this game alongside that one as it'd be worlds apart. The lowest standard game I have ever seen us play in, absolutely abysmal.

Both teams in good form.
Wilder always seems to concentrate on his own team performing instead of trying to negate/ stop the opposition. So should be an open attacking game.

Very confident we’ll score but also very confident we’ll concede.
The most likely score is probably a 2-2 draw.

We were at an all time low, 1st away win that, about 500 away fans. I didn't go. Our lass went , stayed over too.

Both clubs seemed to be heading for L2 it was bleak, Cotterill and Clough turned it round for us. Absolutely dire game, decent scenes for your goal though.

Haha that game is infamous as being one of the worst ever city games. It was like a downs league match.

The Blades have actually beaten us at home four times in the last five.

2-3
1-3 (only lost twice at home that season)
0-1 (the aforementioned shitefest)
3-0 (McAllister scored direct from a corner in a rout)
2-3 (came from 2-0 down to equalise at the death, City fans giving it 2-0 and you fucked it up only for Henderson to go straight up the other end and complete his hat trick. Cue scenes in the away end and the inevitable taunts of 2-2 and you fucked it up!)

They've dished out some punishment to us at the gate recently!

Was quality that hendo hatrick game, one of those memorable away games. We have a pretty good record in recent times , let's hope it continues. Draw would be a decent result though.

Fleck out injured, replaced by lundstram, huge loss for us that, puts Bristol city firm favourites now imo. Although I think lundstram is ok his record when starting is atrocious.

Get in, sounded like our goal was coming but only after SU dominated the first half

I was in the EastEnd for that game. Right next to the away fans, fair shout you had the last laugh! Limbs everywhere.

For today though, huge win against a good side and that’s one goal conceded in four games. Great substitutions by Lee today in fairness, won us the game.

Looks like we’re slowly getting into gear.

The subs won that for us. We looked a completely different team after that and the goal was coming. Late winner, third in the league, gas lost. Lovely jubbly.

A tad unlucky on the Blades part, McGoldrick should have done better with his chance in all honesty. That said, I don't really remember Maenpaa having to do much, even when Utd were on top.
Once the goal went in (not sure if he meant it or not TBH), there was only 1 winner and we seem to have picked up some good habits.
I've slagged him off previously so have to praise LJ for his substitutions, they changed the game.
Cracking result City. :)

Listened to the live commentary on Radio Sheffield.

Seems we were in control and looked comfortable from the 10th minute to the 60th minute, didn’t create any clear cut chances but had several half chances and good situations, deserved to be leading at half time

However Bristol City eventually got their act together, finished the last 15 minutes strongly and deservedly scored.

Overall a pretty even game, a draw would be been a fair result but you win some, you lose some. Good luck to City on a good win, no complaints from me.

A draw would've been fair but you created nothing.

McGoldricks chance apart Sheff, you didn't really threaten much with all respect. Lots of half chances but didn't work Maenpaa at all. Yes, you were on top possession wise but it felt like neither side wanted to lose so were quite cagey.
You're obviously a very good side but I left a little disappointed in the Blades TBH, once we started playing our game and eventually scored (it felt like it was coming), there was only one winner.
Possession doesn't win games and I genuinely don't think you did enough either side of the break, when you were definitely on top. It was one of those games where the first goal meant everything TBH, 2 very evenly matched sides going at it but both concentrating on defence first, that's how I felt afterwards anyway.
I do agree, you didn't deserve to lose in all honesty.

Did anyone think the subs won that as ours made a difference and the Blade's didn't really effect anything?

Youve come to those conclusions from a biased radio Sheffield commentary?

You were better first half but created nothing. Johnson changed tactics in the second half and we were the better side and deserved the points on the chances created.

Subs changed the game too, all 3 had a positive impact on the result.

I think 1-0 to us was the right result. Lots of possession alone does not mean a team deserves anything from the game and the best chances were created by us, albeit most of them in the last 30 minutes in which I thought we looked fantastic. Both teams should be top half at the end of the season.

Keith Edwards ain't actually biased towards us at all, he's an ex player that doesn't support us tbh. Sounded a bit opposite to what we all expected I thought, we thought plenty of goals but looks as though both teams showed more respect to each other than that, sounds like 1-0 Was a fair result to me. When lundstram starts we lose, the poor lad is jinxed. 3 starts this season lost all 3, infact the cup game too he probably started that. I'd guess he's started around 20 games I bet we've lost 15 and I actually think he's ok.
