Last time I went to the Gate was for the rugby New Years Day 2015 when the South Stand was only partially up in the corners. I'm sure I'll be quite amazed that I'm sitting in Ashton Gate.

It's like a brand new stadium, and I mean that in the best possible way.

Hopefully the stuff on the pitch can start matching up to it!

Is anyone there? Is it 4-3-3?

Yes, when we have the ball, 451 when we don't. City look solid buy toothless. Our midfield isn't being allowed to play, can see us conceding when one of our players gets caught in possession in midfield.

Very impressed. Surprised at how small the South Stand looks from the outside, but plenty of room in the concourse, and I'd be shocked if there's a bad seat in the stand. Nice to see the Suspension Bridge too, not seen that at the Gate for 20 plus years.

I'll post more on the game when I get home.

1-0 City.

Not even joking. Typical City in such a shit season to do over the runaway league leaders. Did the double against Southampton a few years back. Thumped Palace and Cardiff the year we went down. Beat Newcastle first game after Johnson was sacked.

Lump on it.
Why oh why didn't I take my own advice?!

Toally deserved. O'Donnell barely had a save to make. Get in there!

I hope you had a bet on that pal.

Wow!

I've said many times on here why do we bother? And it's for moments like that. I haven't celebrated or felt like that at football for years.
It was fully deserved too. They barely had an attempt of note and while they had a lot of the ball we always looked more dangerous. How refreshing to see us continually push forward even though a draw would have been a decent result.
Smith was my MOM with Ayling not far behind. We looked solid. Could of kept the ball better at times but the desire always meant we won it back.
Any manager debating whether to take the job won't be after today. That is what this club is capable off.

Am I going overboard? Probably, but by god that was such an improvement. Everyone played their part, hell there was even something resembling an atmosphere in the second half.

Ohhh fuck yeah that was fantastic.

Boro offered nothing after Kike missed a sitter and we were brilliant.

Great formation, Smith by far our best player again and awesome to see Burns and Reid get a game. If only Cotterill had played them earlier like many have said then he would still be in a job.

Listening to the radio it is clear the players and staff were upset by events this week but what a response. I hope Pemberton and Elliott are able to stay at the club.

Surprised Boro are running away with it. That's twice we've nullified them pretty comfortably, if we can do it surely other teams can manage?!

Man, I enjoyed that!
4-5-1 or 4-3-3 and we look a different side.
Brilliant City, absolutely brilliant. The scenes all over the Gate were mental when that goal went in! Some random bloke gave me a hug and my old man didn't have a clue what was going on when some bird kissed him!
Really proud of our club today and if any prospective manager was there, he couldn't have failed to be impressed.
I wasn't impressed with 'Boro WTGR to them but we stopped them playing apart from a few instances. I'm sure they are better than that but it HAD to be our day today.
Well played City!! :2thumb:

I'm sorry to be "that guy" but that's already 3 points more than we would have had if Cotterill stayed...:shut:

Seems like we played with a freedom and belief that we haven't seen for a long long time. Keep it up boys!! Need to get a bit of a run going now.

Just watched Downings' interview on the 'Boro website, what an absolute tosser he is! They were 'in control of the game', missed loads of chances' etc, etc according to him. I'm not surprised he was coming out with such shite as he couldn't have seen much from Koreys' pocket or he was at a different game to the rest of us.
Extremely bad loser!

I thought we were worth the win yesterday, for our play in the last 20 minutes or so.

First 45 I thought Boro did a good job of stopping us from playing. I thought we looked solid but toothless, and pretty lucky not to go in at half time 1 down.

Second half, I thought we did well to keep our shape in the first 15/20 minutes as they tried to pull us out of position. The rest of the game I thought we looked a lot more dangerous going forward, as we looked to hit them on the break, and looked the most likely to score. 1 off the line and 1 off of the bar, so could have been 3 for us really.

A little more on the South Stand, I was surprised by how many people were in the concourse before the game. I guess that's what a game on the TV and the ability to have a pint, will do. I also thought it was pretty easy to make some noise in there, all with no stand to the left of it, yet.

I had a season ticket for 8 years until I gave it up after McInness first season at the club, as I just wasn't enjoying it. These days I go to a lot of football with a mate who works in the game, and I always enjoy my time with him, but recently I've missed not caring about the games I'm watching. Yesterday's last minute winner only did more to reinforce that. I'll have to pop down more often.

Thought they had 2 excellent chances, but that was about it.

Was that your first visit to the South stand V as it's usually like that TBH. The club must be coining it in when you compare it to previous years as the pre match money was virtually zero. If it was your first South stand visit, I would appreciate your thoughts on the new place?
