I get the impression you guys expected to do a lot better - is that because you romped promotion last season/spent a bit in the summer on new players?

We didn't spend a lot in the summer, we brought one player in and added a few loans. Which bar Bennett ( who hasn't pushed on as I hoped ) and Baker, have been a waste of time and haven't improved the team in the slightest. Completely pointless in fact. Callum Robinson is playing for the U21 which is no suprise as he couldn't even establish himself in league one. And we recently got Simon Cox in on loan, again pointless as he never gets on.

Only we could fuck up this bad after one of our most successful seasons ever.

Not really what we did spend, more what we potentially could have spent. Lots of people's expectations were raised by the board, after one of our directors saying 'this is the type of player we're going to sign' when we missed out on Harry Maguire. We then went chasing after all these unrealistic targets, and ending up not really improving the squad.

Incredibly frustrating, and must be put right in January.

But they won't be put right in January. We'll get a couple of shit players that don't help us at all really.

The club have always backed Cotterill in saying that we won't sign any players that aren't going to improve the team, so why would we suddenly go against that and go down the quantity over quality route?
