Good win at Brentford but still lacking in some aspects, carried a few passengers yesterday again and we need to become a more consistent unit which may well mean a change from the 4-4-2, especially against sides that play 3 in the middle.

O’Leary
Hunt Webster Kelly DaSilva
Brownhill Pack Walsh Eliasson
Diedhiou Taylor

That’s what I would go for, but I know full well it’ll be Paterson for Walsh meaning that a left footer will be playing right midfield (Eliasson) and a right footer left midfield (Paterson) which winds me up, and Weimann for either one of Fam or Matty.

Still, I think we’ll win, and we could do with it as Stoke next Saturday will be a tough one.

Bristol City 2-0 Hull City. (Weimann 64’, Kelly 80’)

18,558 (213 Hull)

Pato must be brilliant in training because he's constantly the weakest in the team at the moment, I suppose the injuries in the squad don't help but I'd rather have brownhill on the wing than him at the moment.

Really liked the defence that finished the game at Brentford though hope that's what starts these next 2 home games.

When's odowda back? Hoping he starts ahead of pato.

5th in the away table, 18th in the home. Need to sort that second stat out and what a chance against a poor Hull.
Joke that we have 2 home games in 3 days, who dreams this shit up.

Wednesday-Saturday isnt that much different time wise to playing Saturday-Tuesday which has been going on since the football league began.

I'd expect an ugly scrappy bore of a game and a City win.

Once Kalas is back, I wouldn't mind a back 3 of Webster, Kalas and Kelly to be honest with Hunt and Da Silva on either side allowing us to play 3 in the middle. Alternatively I would like to see us try a 4-5-1 although this is probably not the game to try it.
I agree with JJH's team although little Lee will persist with his mate Patto.

Ugly 3-1 win. Taylor, Fammy and Weimann, that'll do.

Yep, I’d much rather have Brownhill out wide if Pato is the man. Really looking forward to see what Adelakun can do when he’s fit, he’ll give us another option at least.

Don’t think this game will be a spectacle, put it that way. Low scoring game with the first goal being crucial and I fancy us to get it!

1-0 City. Matty Taylor to get it. Att 19,000 odd

I'm not sure, we all know how good Pato is when on form and I just think LJ, rightly or wrongly, is trying not to drop him because he doesn't want to dent his confidence.

I'm not so sure mate, he's one player I've never particularly rated.. And I'm not usually one to slag off players.

He hasn't had one good game imo this season, and was arguably along with baker the worst of a bad bunch since Christmas last season. Can't even call him inconsistent because he hasn't had a good game in about a year now.

Must've done something right last season to score 5 times and get 8 assists.

We'll have to agree to disagree, when he's on form he's superb imo. Problem is he's not on form enough.

Well, thought Hull looked decent but it looks like another despairingly interesting season down the Gate. Still dont think we are any good but dont see many teams below us that are better.

Nasty, scrappy and much needed win. We need to improve though, if we’re still in this position in January we need some quality in the middle ffs.

He's been shit the entire year, and today was absolutely woeful again. How he lasted to 80 mins is baffling.

Like I said, I'm not one to slag a player off but he is so frustrating to watch. Confusing ad fuck how he's start g every week

I think we’ll see worse teams come to Ashton Gate this season. Hull aren’t that bad a side which the table suggests.

As for us, we are lacking a bit quality in the middle and final third. There’s no spark when we’re going forward, we often go on the attack, stop, then look for options.

I think we’re 2/3 short if we want to think about play offs. Somebody needs to break Paterson in training before Saturday in all!

Thought he was very decent again tonight..

You can’t say you’re not one to slag a player off and then absolutely hammer them after every game regardless of their actual performance. I don’t like him, never have since he jumped out of 4 tackles in 5 minutes at Villa away when we were threatened with relegation. Does the same thing every time we’re struggling as well.

That being said, I can appreciate when he has a decent game which he did tonight. Far more effective and creative than Weimann for example, who you’ll probably tell me was absolutely incredible cause he ran about a bit.

And personally I am one to slag off players, won’t claim otherwise..

In fairness, I’ve stuck up for Paterson in the past but I thought he had another wank game last night and the only one he’s played well in this season was the one against Sheffield Wednesday.

Losing patience with him, and with Johnson for selecting him every week.

Probably more delighted with that result than I really should be, but get in! Knowing the way LJ's teams work we won't lose until the New Year now haha.

Thought Webster was immense, my MOTM by a country mile. Weimann looked really quite poor. So did Diedhiou tbf but I imagine that'll change Saturday.

I don't think he was great last night tbf. I'd drop him for O'Dowda Saturday tbh.

I'm not usually one to slag players off, but I will on this occasion with him because he isn't good enough.

Funny how people see things differently, that first half display was horrendous..constantly giving the ball away either with wayward passing or trying to be to fancy with beating a player. It came off a few times but youd expect it to with the amount of times he did it.

A decent midfield and strike force would have capitalised on some of his mistakes

It's wierd. We're not playing well, certainly nowhere near last year yet we're winning games.
I genuinely don't understand how it's happening but will take the results.
Being 8th without playing particularly well, in my opinion, is absolutely staggering tbh.

I agree Ciderup. I think the main reason is that we are stronger defensively than we were last year. Kalas, Webster, Kelly and Dasilva are class and although the football is pretty poor to watch, we are more resolute. 4 of our 6 wins have been 1-0 shithouse jobs and we've kept clean sheets in nearly half of our games. We've also had a little bit of luck which I expect will even itself out soon.

We won't go on another run like last year because we aren't that good but I don't expect us to see us chuck away any big leads either.

(Watch us go and concede five tomorrow now I've said all this)

I like hunt, but he does seem to have a moment of madness in him. He got absolutely destroyed for pace by grosicki on Wednesday too.

Best right back we’ve had since Orr imo.

Could understand why we let him go but it's certainly made us weaker at right back.

I’ve never rated Palmer since Tomlin ripped him 8 new arseholes when we beat you 4-1 at AG, think SoutheySWFC was there and will remember.

Palmer is okay and that's being nice, should really be playing for a good League One team, Baker his back up isn't ready so not replacing Hunt is concerning!

Palmer and Fox are an interesting full back pair to have at this level

That's not hard tbf
In fairness I’m also a fan of Pisano, think he still has more to offer with us.
