If Johnson doesn’t start Taylor in this one then he can fuck off, time for Weimann to have a well earned rest.

Maenpaa
Hunt Webster Baker Da Silva
Pack Walsh Brownhill
Watkins Taylor Diedhiou

We have a decent sized squad so it’s time to start using it, Da Silva and Walsh deserve a go. Performances have been abject of late so I fully expect Johnson to try the same thing again and expect it to work.

0-2 (Bannan 40’, Thorniley 86’)

Yeah, things are a bit downbeat at the moment. Not so much the results, but the performances. 12 months ago, we were a sharp, high tempo pressing team that finally looked like it had an identity and a long term goal.

What are we now? The last 3 games we've just lumped it. At WBA, we attacked them from the off and got torn to pieces. The 3 games before that, we looked sound and showed we aren't a bad side. I have a feeling that LJ is just making things up as we go along, just to survive. We aren't a big fish at this level and that won't cut it.

Sunday will be my last game for at least a year, as I'm moving to Shanghai on Wednesday (the day). Would be great to sign off with a win but Wednesday (the team) look strong. Hopefully Reach has got those screamers out of his system.

Wednesday’s side looks no better than ours without players like Hooper, Lee and Westwood in it. Completely different side to the ones we faced under Carvalhal.

Yeah I know that but their results away from home recently have been good, so I'm expecting a tough challenge.

Difficult one to predict. Wednesday have been really inconsistent away from home this season, either really good or really poor.

For example in their last 2 away games they were really poor in the away defeat at Forest, then the next match looked impressively comfortable in their away win at Villa. No one knows which SW will turn up but they are capable of winning this.

Hopefully the team is motivated to put the disappointment of dropping two points on Wednesday behind them, tough place to go but Bristol City have had a very similar start to the season to us, definitely a game we can go and get 3 points out of f we are on it though. There will be goals in this game as we effectively start every game a goal behind because of our inability to keep a clean sheet, just hope we can outscore them. A win and we are into the top 6, massive incentive for both sides.

Annoying that but we have too many players underperforming atm. Dull season this is going to be.

GET THE FUCK IN. Gutted I didn't go down now, fantastic result. First half was turgid and seemed like we were trying to keep them off the score sheet rather than have a go ourselves, second half far better, took a few more risks and with the attacking talent we have are always going to score goals. Onomah was fantastic today as he was on Wednesday, definitely some talent in him, Hector solid again and credit to Dawson who made some good saves first half to keep it 0-0. To come out of this set of fixtures and be sat in the top 6 is far beyond what anyone expected, we've shown that we can compete with anyone in this league. I'd be surprised if we can stay where we are but I'll enjoy it while it lasts, off for a Sunday session now.

How to throw away a winnable game of football - by Bristol City FC. Miss a couple of sitters in the first half, then gift the opposition their opening goal.

JJH is right, too many underperformers. Paterson woeful, Brownhill lightweight, Pack anonymous, Diedhiou looked like a league 1 shithouse striker.

Well done to Wednesday, excellent away support as always and although they weren't at their best, they ground out the win.

Thought Bristol City started well with a high tempo but then you realised they really lacked any kind of quality. Bristol C reminded me of a good league 1 side, strong and organised but playing the percentage game hoping that eventually some thing will fall for them.

Wednesday didn’t do that much, didn’t actually start playing until the 35th minute but were clearly the higher quality team and I think deserved their win.

They've won the league in October this year, unbelievable considering they won it in November last year...

Don’t you realise that on any day any team can beat anyone is this league. That match the other week could have gone either way, that’s football and it’s also what makes the Championship a great league, you need to respect every team.

You can’t deny BC looked like a hard working basic team today. Felt Wednesday showed BC a lot of respect by starting tactically negative, don’t know whether that a positive or negative for Jos Lukehey as SW offered nothing. Then it’s as tho on the 35th minute the SW players thought “we can win this” and they started to push up and have some attacks.

Wasn’t that impressed with SW either but I think they will get better (like a few others) throughout the season. It’s early days, loads of teams bunching mid table, so loads of teams including BC, SW and SU have a realistic chance of reaching the play offs. As they say, it’s a marathon not a sprint,

United lost their most influential player in November last year, most Blades predicted we’d struggle once Coutts had broke his leg. We bought Lee Evans to play his role, he was OK ish, but too many sideways and backward passes and no where near as good.

This season we’ve strengthened the squad, better goalie, in fact all 4 Summer signings have slotted in really well. Norwood has been a revelation.

Of course no one wins the league in October, havent met a single Unitedite even thinking we’ll even finish top 2, football is a funny game, injuries/ loss of form, confidence issues. Loads of teams still have a chance.

Christ you don't half go on, why say it in one sentence when 83 will do.

Glad you took the time out of your day to watch, if United were playing in my back garden I'd close the fucking curtains cos I'm just not that bastard bothered.

We aren't very good but Sheffsteel's assessment of the match is way off. I thought the two sides were pretty evenly matched throughout most of the game, and in fact I thought we edged the first half. A couple of defensive in a short space of time killed us off, and they managed the game very well after that.

Both sides will feel that they can play much better today, but they took the points so probably won't care too much! For us, a few players need to look at themselves.

Woodburn has generally only made sub appearances and has been very underwhelming with poor body language as though he has no confidence or isn’t trying So highly rated at Liverpool but he’s looked surprisingly poor. He’s still young and sometimes these teenage PL talents find it hard to play against big men at Championship level. However things can quickly change in football so he might come good, don’t write off any players or teams this early.

I thought Bristol City were the better team in the 1st half. SW seemed initially really negative altho admit Wednesday finished strongly. City had a lot of the play and more attacks but after a while it felt like you weren’t going to score.

Wednesday were gifted the 1st goal, showed good quality for the 2nd then managed the game out showing some good composure and passing at times. Again City had most of the attacks but didn’t create any chances.

It’s only 1 game and still all to play for. Don’t take my opinion personal, it’s only opinion.
Wanted this game to end up a draw, so was hoping your team would equalise.

You’re a funny guy Southey, love it.
My brother is a Wednesday fan and I was visiting him, so had no choice to watch it.

Solid League One is a bit far fetched but we do miss some proper quality up front. I'd have us on par with Wigan and Blackburn which is pretty embarrassing when comparing resources.

So how have you concluded that all signings have slotted in very well when he’s barely kicked a ball?

Never said solid, of course today BC were far better then that today.
I said a good league 1 side, altho you were wearing the Barnsley colours.
If it makes you feel better, SU play FLDCFC (Frank Lampards Derby) in 2 weeks on Sky, then you can criticise our performance how you see fit.
