I disagree. Burton and Southed both doing wonders who were in the dire league 2 last season.

Ha. With all due respect, what the flying fornication would a Cambridge fan know about League One these days?

Ah the suffolk man with 6 toes who get's a nose bleed when he leaves his border into new horizons who isn't intellectual enough to understand a Cambridge United fan does watch other leagues too.

Nice try though.

I haven't watched any L1 football since we were last in it (2012). But both times in recent seasons when we've gone up (2009 and 2011), we have had no money to strengthen the squad, and got shafted week in week out, and came straight back down.

The biggest difference I would say is in the quality of the finishing, in L2 you can make absolute howlers at the back week in, week out, and get away with it 50% of the time because the strikers at this level are often not good enough to convert their chances.

I'm not saying that L1 strikers are all crackshot marksmen, far from it, but they are that couple of notches better.

Similarly, defenders don't make as many comedy bodges in the third tier.

So in my experience, the difference in quality is not "astounding" but it is definitely there, and any L2 team who fails to strengthen properly upon promotion would get hosed. It's rare however that teams are stupid or skint enough to do that though, maybe one of the 4 promoted L2 teams would come straight back down in any given season but most are good enough to stay up.

I'm aware that there are plenty of teams better than Orient this season. Doesn't mean that they're not shit as well. Believe me, the difference in the quality of football between Leagues One and Two is absolutely astounding.

Only big jump in quality is league one to the championship

Marvellous. I might live in Suffolk, but as you might be able to ascertain by the football team I support, I am not originally from there, nor from a little provincial backwater like Cambridge.

The Wycombe supporter above has already blown your entirely incorrect argument out of the water, but I'll add in that watching the odd League One game on Sky Sports is somewhat different to watching a league week-in, week-out for nearly a decade. 14 years since you've been up there, isn't it?

Not a big jump between the Championship and the Premier League, then? Right-o.

Literally the only side I've seen attempt to play it around on the deck like 90% of the league one sides is Accrington. Oxford did it for 45 minutes. Everyone else I've seen has been shit. Orient post-Cox are probably the worst long ball side going.

Enjoying how precious you're all getting about the division, though. Must be a chip on the shoulder left over from your recent respective non league adventures.

Whilst absolutely astounding is perhaps a tad hyperbolic, there is a very obvious gap in quality between the two divisions. I haven't seen Burton so can't comment, but Southend had a very strong defence and a very promising midfield last season; they've strengthened their weak area with Mooney and Hunt so I'm not surprised to see them pushing up the table.

Now now don't get me wrong. I was pleased with your win, as LO are one of my least fancied sides. But to me that looks clear, and you can also hear the Orient fans shout handball on the goal cam vid on RoversPlayer. Although tbh, what fans shout during a match isn't concrete evidence

There is a gap in quality between divisions but it's certainly not huge and a couple of decent signings in the summer would likely see any side promoted from league 2 stay up.

I think all 4 promoted teams last season are in the top half of league 1 without spending a fortune.

Most teams in the top half of league 2 would be able to compete with the sides in the bottom half of league 1 in my opinion.

Going back to the game, I still think Orient will be there or there abouts come May if they can strengthen their defence in January.

Am I the only one who thinks Messi's first goal was a clear hand ball?
At the time I thought it was a very very tight call, but I wasn't 100% convinced, after seeing it again from the angle of the camera it looks like one of those some refs give, others don't.

Can't disagree with any of that.
