Are you a Jones in or out? He's not getting any results thats worthy of a mention. And sounds like your football is dire too.
Jones has the double whammy of being unlikable and doing an horrendous job as manager. I really thought we would be good under Jones but we are an awful side with no ideas. I can take poor football if it's effective but we aren't close to that. Barring Davies and Evatt, almost every other manager has been able to set up tactically to negate anything Jones wants to do.

I do think our fans will never accept being a mid table League One club, which we are now, so expectations are probably higher than they should be but we are really pathetic atm.

I would be Jones out but I'm getting to the point of not caring who our manager is. We're in a vicious cycle of bringing a manager in part way through the season, they steady the ship, poor recruitment over summer, manager starts the season poorly and is sacked.

We seemed to have tried every kind of manager possible since Bowyer went and nothing has worked.

I agree. Although we have a really good squad for league one, we all saw last season in the cup against a poor Championship Blackburn side we got torn to shreds. We have got 2 quality championship worthy players at the moment. We'd need a new squad again.
Who are the 2?

We had none and just two touches in the box on Saturday..
Think we had one touch in Orients box on the previous Tuesday. Just face it, we are far shitter than you's :bg: :ffs:
We'll soon see on boxing day... what a cure for a hangover that wont be

Hard to argue against them. Barnett potentially good enough to step up too.

Would like to see a fully fit Mullin give that league a go. I think he's a better player than Langstaff who's a regular.

Sounds like it could be time to have another classic Clough or Parky debate. Been a few weeks since the last one, we're slacking.

I was thinking more a Clough / Evatt debate, only one is a suffering from the Columbian flu today though.

We will never forget WHAT EVATT DID in claiming that Barrow promotion based on 75% of the season.

Proud football men like Clough and Parky would have turned that down because they hadn't fully earned it.

Managers like Clough and Parkinson knows how to win football matches. I haven't seen them much this season but Mansfield played pretty attractive football last season, I thought.

Besides I'd rather have Parkinson winning football matches than a 30 year old coach obsessed with possession and box penetrations. Boring as ****

Both steady Eddies who have over 40 years Experience as a manager between them...Neither have won a title in the EFL and have both been relegated as well as promoted.
Clough was certainly a better player than a manager and Parkinson also had a better career as a player than as a manager.

Parky slander we see is mad. Man has won EFL promotion for 4 different teams, I doubt there's anyone outside of Neil Warnock who can better that.

Has Clough been relegated other than with Burton in the Championship? It was by a goal or a point, something like that.

Took them to a 2nd place finish in L1 then kept them up for a season in the Championship which is fucking mental looking back.

Parkinson’s achievements across all those teams across all these years speaks for itself, as above I can’t think of many if any football league managers who’s CV comes close to PP. Lol though to suggest Clough is better.

I would imagine Steve Evans would challenge that.

Jim Smith 4 different sides and Evans 2 sides.

Been trying to find a definitive list to win this argument on the internet but can't find one. Warnock would defo be top of it that's for sure.

Good job we're not just counting promotions otherwise David "Dave" Challinor would be miles ahead with all those Sunday League titles he won with FLYDE.

Evatt hasn't won enough or managed enough to be in the same category as Clough, Parkinson and Ferguson imo. Challinor is a funny one as most of his success has come in non league but if it was a choice to have Evatt or Challinor as my manager I know who id go with.

5 promotions and a League Cup runners up medal while at a League 2 side.

If that's an average CV I'd hate to see what your definition of a poor CV is.

Stockport County.
Challinor at Bolton would be like having Andrea Bocelli perform a set list at a Cheeky Girls concert. His next job is in the higher reaches of the Championship or in a top European top flight. I seriously doubt the same will be said of any of the other names mentioned in this thread.

Steady Eddie as i say, not knocking him just saying plenty about like him. He is a steady Eddie who comes third or fourth. What he did with Bradford was exceptional for Bradford but he never won the league cup or league with them. Never won the league with us or you....Nearly man Maybe harsh but fair

I would have Challinor as i think Evatt has been found out and has taken us as far as he can.....Not a chance in hell would i want Parkinson, Clough or Ferguson anywhere near todays Bolton team
In the last 5 seasons Evatt has won National league with Barrow, Promotion at the first attempt at Bolton. Reached the play-offs the last two seasons and won the EFL cup. Yet me and the majority of Bolton fans want him gone.......All depends what your expectations are

Can Challinor cope at this level once Barry goes in January though? He's been carrying that side admirably.

Parky is in a promotion position with a load of strikers who don't even score.
