Bet Rob Page had a little smile when he saw this

Think he will be more worried about his own job than Bruno to be fair. Pagey seems to have royally buggered up at Cobblers, for all he did frustrate us he did ok last season (considering most of our starting XI are either at Shrewsbury struggling or Notts County mega struggling)

Expected Page to do ok there even if he bored the hell out of your fans.

As for Flitcroft, did OK at Bury but on a big budget, sadly seems injuries crippled him this season.

How has he buggered up at Northampton? He's taken a newly promoted team to a fairly comfortable position after 25 matches. If Smurf had done for Page what he has done for Bruno, then I suspect we would be in a much better position now than we are.

As for Flitcroft, he showed his true ability when he lost a few of the players they stretched their budget on. Any manager can get results with a team full of players at the top end of the ability spectre for this level, but not many managers can get a bunch of no-hopers to get results.

I don't think many Cobblers fans would agree at the moment! 9 losses in 11 games!

It all depends on people's expectations I'm afraid. I would say a team coming up and being 8 points above the relegation zone at the turn of the year are not doing too bad, particularly one of Northampton's stature

Issue is as with ourselves they have been nose diving lately and both need to arrest the slide asap.

With those three in the team the bloke is some sort of Guardiola and Mourinho hybrid for keeping you up.

Oh trust me, he's buggered it up!
Page can laugh all he likes, i afford a wry smile when they lost 1-0 at Blades to a late goal, where oh where have i seen that before?
He has a way bigger budget than Vale and play-off promotion aspirations yet they are on the same points as us, regardless of the Bruno fiasco i was glad to see the back of this negative bore.

As I have mentioned before Dicko was solid enough for us for 3 seasons, Duffy a regular although had an up and down time form wise.
Occy was decent but seemed to go downhill last season, he was commuting every day from Lincoln hence the move to County but all three should be doing far better with their quality.

Looks like we will find out who Bruno's successor will be tomorrow as the club have made an announcement to announce that there will be an announcement tomorrow. Fucking stupid club this is.

It has looked all along that Michael Brown would step up from his caretaker role into a permanent role until a couple of hours ago when Lee Clark's name suddenly appeared and raced to 2nd favourite in the odds. Would be about right for our chairman to have Brown bringing players in during the transfer window only to bring a different manager in a week later

If these are the 2 options, neither seems particularly inspiring to be honest. Will either stop the rot and save Vale from the depths of L2? If they do, it will probably be more by luck than judgement

Clarke has a decent win % as manager... problem is that is because he won almost half his games as Huddersfield boss. Since then he has been dreadful!

Various rumours flying about... may not even be managerial!

I can't see anyone other than Brown for the rest of this season at least. I doubt its a signing, but you never know this season at VP.

We've had an announcement about an extension to season ticket deadlines

Apparently though, THE announcement has been delayed. I have heard a rumour it is because Smurf added an 'e' onto the end of Lee Clark's name in his contract and it has had to be re-written.......and not using crayons this time

Typical Vale! Dave Johnson does this a lot with the twitter, like the guy and he seems passionate and trying to build the buzz but needs to not shoot from the hip with these "announcements".

Smurf seems to have denied the link with Clark though.

Plenty of rumours

Karl Robinson is wanted is one I've seen on OVF... no thanks... cant see why he'd leave Charlton unless the instability there is a factor.
Adams as DOF/Manager until May
New Signing
Extension of Streete's contract
Selling up

Dave Johnson is very passionate about Vale but I think he dives in with his tweets some times.

As for the rumours.....

Not sure a man like Karl Robinson is needed at the Vale right now, and as you say why would he leave Charlton for us. Even if there is instability there, he would hardly be arriving into stability at Vale.
I would be amazed if Adams ever returned to Vale in any capacity considering how he has been treated in the past.
Can't see any more new signings. Are there any free agents worth looking at?
A pre-announcement to an announcement of a contract extension would be pretty tinpot.
I can't imagine Johnson wording his tweet how he did if Smurf is selling up.

But all of the above are reasons why these pre-announcements should never happen. They start a rumour mill which then just starts people talking about things that are never realistically going to happen and when the announcement comes it is met with a 'meh' reaction because everyone had built themselves up to something better.

Just get whatever it is sorted and finalised and then make a press release without all of the unnecessary build up.

Was going around the Lorne Street where the corporate area's are.

Fair enough.

Probably a load of rubbish anyway but even if not, it won't happen.

I know he has a reputation to just babble on but from the moment he walked in to the club he's talked about how happy he is to be at a club like Charlton etc, his plans for the future and how desperate he his to help 'heal' the club as he put it.

He even met fans in a local boozer to talk about their concerns around the club the other night, he certainly appears to want to be here for the long haul.

Of course, if you wanted him you would have to pay compensation so that is something that would certainly intrigue our owner.

It wont be true...

I expect Brown will get it and IMO that would be the right choice unless someone becomes interested who is going to take us forward i.e. top manager at this level.

Ronnie Moore at the game today? Worth a punt with his experience? Chris Coleman was there mind and doubt he was applying!

I would take a lot of convincing on that one, although I'm beginning to think Brown is only taking us in one direction.
