Are there really that many that bring fewer than 100?

Accrington had 81 at Kingsmeadow but I expect all the others to bring at least 100 - and most to bring at least 200

We've had 2 sub 100's here already. Newport(98) and Morecombe(65).

Is there any news on Luton getting a new stadium to suit your growing crowds.
Nothing as yet, but there is something definitely in the pipeline. Rumour has it land has been purchased and an announcement will be forthcoming in the not too distant future.

The Vauxhall site apparently, where the Brache is and the tennis courts.

Its a perfect location. Close to the town centre (around 1 mile away) and across the road from Luton Airport Parkway station. Also very close to the M1 motorway, but not directly linked. Its quite residential, but perfect for a 16,000-20,000-seater stadium with room to expand. The club could also buy/use the recreation centre that's next door that probably wouldn't have to move at all.

The one concern would be finance - now I'm guessing that 2020 have that covered with some plan. A supplementary build that would ultimately finance the stadium doesn't have to be on site, but land in Luton is at an absolute premium.

Edit: Supposedly it will be a 16,000-seater stadium, with provision to expand based on Rotherham's stadium.

Isn't it under the airport flight path though? I thought that was a pretty significant barrier. I am extremely skeptical of the Brache rumours, will believe when I see something official. Or at least from a credible ITK poster instead of Langford Hat.

If that was an issue, why was Capability Green allowed to be built? The PSZ is a bit of a red herring.

You're going to make Brache Sparta homeless? Disgraceful!
For the record, I've seen a figure of £750k bandied away as our budget. If we do end up in League 2 next season we could well have a competitive budget for that level for the first time since the John Still days.

Hahaha, Brache Sparta are living happily on Dallow Road

Capability Green isn't on the flight path, and I doubt it would be that if you used the Vauxhall site as there are already existing buildings on that site that are higher than a football stadium would need to be (not to mention the airport being way up the hill). Plenty of land around there too, good road and rail links nearby and walkable from town.

Good luck with that one Hatters.

From memory it isn't a Stadium height issue it's the potential of a ton of people in one spot in the takeoff path where a crash is a higher possibility. I know that sounds appealing to some of you ;-)

I would imagine we have a bottom 6 budget, I believe we have a sub-£1m wage bill.

As an example of our penny-pinching, apparently we were sniffing around Jake Hyde but could only offer him 400 quid a week...oddly enough he chose York instead who could afford £1700 a week.

For the northern/Midlands teams fighting for promotion this season there is a bigger incentive for promotion. League 1 is a very northern/midland league and looks as though its going to be more so, with at least two of Mk, Bristol City and Swindon likely to go up and Blackpool and Wigan likely to come down with perhaps a Leeds or Rotherham. Its also quite likely league 1 will lose at least a couple of Colchester, Yeovil, Crawley, Orient And Gillingham. If Shrewsbury, Bury and Burton came up there would be fairly high away attendance's most weeks. Where the average away following in league is probably around 300, on league 1 next season it could potentially be around 800, which would certainly boost the coffers a little.

Morecambe's budget is about £700.000, only Accy have a lower budget.

Information based on what exactly? The BoD have always kept the Club's finances pretty well under wraps so i'm curious where you get such a specific figure. For the record I think you are at least £200,000 short but hey we're all guessing.:dk:

Our budget is reported as being around 250k, one of the lowest in the league.. would be a brief appearance if we go up.

Supposedly Oxford have a bigger budget than us - that proves how poor a job Appleton is doing down there.

I think they increased the budget available to him significantly in January so it might be a bit early to judge that.

Shame they decide to spend money on other things when they don't always pay the tax man.

I'm surprised it's even that as I thought it was the lowest in the league, and would've guessed Welling or Alfresco would be on less than £250k still.

Town's budget is £250k-£500k.

Don't believe everything you read, there's absolutely no way we're paying him that much.

I Hope!

Was in the bottom few of the league, never the actual lowest. Its amazing really how well Askey has done.
