£31,000 profit announced last for month, over 1500 members and now over 2000 shirt sales.
This version will have a lot less shame and blame attached than the last one.
Long live the AFC

First things first i am not having a go at you, but why could you not get 1500 members and buy 2000 shirts when you was in the league.
The are two well known Bury residents who are rocking up at our place tonight whose father was a long time Bury FC employee who would rather invest there money in a team that has no history.

Has it ever been mooted to ground share with Salford or have Bury phoenix still plans to build a ground around Pilsworth??

Easy answer.... back then all the shirt & membership money would have gone straight to the dodgy owner. Now the fans know every penny spent is going directly into the club, they will no doubt be much more willing to hand over their money!

We have always been a tiny club in a very crowded marketplace
This is a chance to set our own rules
If this goes tits up it’s OUR fault
For years we have felt helpless as one chancer after another has dragged us through the mud and it’s been embarrassing
NO MORE

Ilkeston Town Investor David Hilton has issued the following statement

Firstly, after such an unpredictable 2020 I would like to offer clarity on a matter that has the potential to cause a little uncertainty or unrest. After receiving many messages and emails recently regarding Bury Football Club, I can confirm that I have participated in discussions over recent weeks about potentially purchasing the club.

Whilst most negotiations have been extremely positive, I have failed to reach an agreement with Mr Dale regarding his shares and at present cannot proceed.

My only objective is to revive Bury Football Club and create a self-sustainable model moving forward, eradicating the clubs’ debt as part of the process. A very similar model to the one that was insisted upon before offering investment at Ilkeston Town Football Club.

Despite all other business activities and a global pandemic, nothing promised has been nor will be sacrificed at Ilkeston. The funds originally allocated have not only been honoured but exceeded and further investment will continue throughout the summer in order to secure the clubs future and competitiveness at a much higher level.

Over the last fourteen months I have watched Ilkeston Town rebuild relationships throughout the whole community and it has become a big part of mine and my children’s lives, these relationships will continue to thrive forever, of that I am certain.

We have a strong playing squad, an academy with a clear pathway for progression and an unrivalled junior network, along with a new, much younger set of fans to add to the already envied excellent supporter base at the club. So much now for us all to be positive about.

Very odd if you ask me. Trying to buy shares in an insolvent company with no assets? By passes any potential benefit of the administration for a buyer.

Bury fans much better off with their phoenix club and working hard and saving cash to see if there is any possibility of them getting Gigg Lane back.

It's the same with every potential Bury buyer, make an approach, realise that Steve Dale is batshit and/or that the company is a debt ridden mess, and then back off. It'll carry on until Dale finds someone stupid enough to buy his bullshit.

Liquidate and go our own way
Sadly the only solution and it means any chancers at least have to be voted in by us

The AFC side of the fan base are VERY unlikely to welcome dodgy SD type crooks with open arms
Forever Bury side of the fan base seem happy to work with anybody

Each to there own and I do respect there view and there love of the old club

Just think it’s time to put the past behind us and look forward not back

David Hilton who has been connected with Ilkeston Town is close to agreeing a deal with Steve Dale to purchase Bury FC

The Shakers haven't played since being expelled from the Football League in 2019

They'd aim to be placed in either the National League or National League North

Who knows,
Just another property developer most likely after the ground but what do I know.
Very nasty split between the fans at present, have backed off commenting on all AFC/BFC boards until it sorts.
For AFC to fold or merge would take a vote of members and like I said the split has got nasty.

Yes did notice that in the BBC documentary.

Seemed to be younger fans supporting the new club so to speak and older ones hoping Bury FC would comeback.

I'm confused- are there now 2 competing Bury football clubs, a brand new one that needs somewhere to play and a resuscitated old one with access to Gigg Lane?

This has shades of Scarborough, where 2 different clubs replaced the one that died, split the support and as a result the highest placed of the 2 is only at Northern Premier League level after 13 years.

This was from two weeks ago, but apparently the administrators are allowing a fans group Est 1885 to buy what's left of Bury FC and their grounds:

Since Bury AFC already exists and are already playing in the Northwest Counties Football League, the most likely result is a permanent fracture of the old Bury FC fanbase a la Northwich Victoria and 1874 Northwich.

I don't believe EST 1885 actually have the money to do this. They were relying on government grants etc. I could be wrong but seems like another false dawn at the moment. EST 1885 have gone very quiet since the announcement.

would a merger not be on the cards with the phoenix club. Say you got a outside investor and EST 1885 had the funds would they have a case to be instantly elected to the league????

Don't make the mistake Scarborough did and allow TWO clubs to run simultaneously. It split the support and hence they've never risen higher than Unibond Premier League in what is now nearly 15 years!

A BIG decision ahead.

There is an investor working with EST 1885 but he’s only willing to lose/put in a certain amount of money. They needed the government grants to help out. There’s been no evidence of a plan or anything so far. I think January is the deadline if they want a new team to join the non-league system. The saga rumbles on...

I fear the support is already split regardless there will be a percentage that will never support a team in Bury again. It’s all political.
