Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
i am not too sure, not seen enough of his teams to say really.

It may work, may not I am not making a comment after saying about this time last year that Tranmere made a spot-on choice in picking Micky Adams.

It'll be interesting to see how he does, he has nothing to lose really, if they go down everyone is expecting it and if they survive he'll get a lot of praise.

Well he can't do much worse than Butcher surely? We've approached Linfield to take Warren Feeney as assistant manager, and we've brought club heroes Mikey Flynn and Byron Anthony in too.

Am I correct in thinking that Newport's undoing so far has been because they took the wrong approach when playing against sides like Crawley and York? It looks to me that they thought these are winnable games, so they ditched their cautious approach and consequently lost both games 3-0.

That's the way it's looking to me, as they got much better results against better opposition. Tbh, one cannot say any of the other defeats were humiliating, but those 2 certainly were.

I can't comment on the Crawley game as I (mercifully) wasn't there, but against York I think it was more a case of heads dropping once York got the first goal (towards the end of a first half which had been fairly even). I think confidence has increasingly become an issue (not surprisingly, being bottom and all!) and Sheridan has alluded to this today - performances have definitely been getting worse compared with the first few games when we were playing some really good stuff at times I thought, and although we won last weekend I felt it was more due to Carlisle under-performing than anything else. Hopefully the Trust takeover and Flynn/Anthony coming back into the fold will give everybody a lift.

Not going to be an easy job at all, but I feel a hell of a lot more optimistic than I did earlier this week!

personally I think Sheridan is the wrong man for Newport, but we'll have to see.

Neil Aspin was available, although surely not as in demand in this division as he seemed to be 12 months ago.
