Went to the game and didn't get home until 2:00am, but boy was it worth it. We weren't great first half, though Cambridge weren't up to much either I didn't think. Corr scored a decent goal (although we should have defended the ball into the box a lot better) but other than that the U's offered very little going forward too. At half time the general consensus was that it was a pretty sh*te game.

Second half we were a different team completely and thoroughly deserved to get the two goals we scored. Matty Taylor changed the game, as Miagsy says, and created our equaliser with his run and shot before reading the shocking back pass to round Dunn and make it 2-1. It was a great showing given the way we lost at home (where else?) last weekend and it underlines what a tremendous spirit and quality we have in this team. If only we could win at The Mem...

Decent crowd at The Abbey and a superb number of Gasheads made the trip. I thought it would only be 200 or so given that we had a live beam back in the bars at home, so 560 is an outstanding effort. Well done Gas.

Money out. The question is, who could we bring in?

I think we were suffering a post 4-1 hangover in the first half. Never really got going and the only bit of quality by either side was the cross and header that gave Cambridge the lead.

Not sure what Clarke said at half time but we were a different team after the break. Harrison hit the top of the bar when he probably should have scored with a free header, Easter diverted a low cross goalwards but unfortunately his effort from 5 yards went straight at the keeper and Bodin's goal bound shot deflected just wide for a corner. We looked even more of a threat when Taylor came on and when his shot was parried to Harrison to blast home the equaliser I thought we'd go on to take all 3 points. The winner was somewhat gifted but cooly finished by Taylor who was unlucky not to score a second when his curling shot was brilliantly tipped wide by the Cambridge keeper. We probably should have put the icing on the cake in injury time when we broke 2 on 1 but Taylor failed to find Harrison and the ref blew for full time.

In the end a thoroughly deserved victory and the sort of second half display that makes you proud to be a gashead.
