We absolutely must sort our home form out after two defeats in our previous games.

Let’s hope Swindon get a player sent off so we can go on to win the game to keep the fans happy.

Hard one to call this for me, think cc will have to work his magic with the squad as Hannant and Carruthers are missing.

Think O’Neil will come back in and with ward,Taylor Taft at the back, the place on the pitch cc hasn’t changed much recently is upfront, he seems to like smith/Richards combo.

Fingers crossed for a 1-0.

Colin Calderwood.....Swindon legend and hero, played for us for 8 years and in that time we climbed from the neither regions of division 4 to the first, or the premiership. He scored one of my favourite goals from the half way line, a free kick that he drove into the goal.... ahhhh memories!
We had a bit of a set back on Tuesday, as we were hammered 3nil by Colchester, we just did not click, their wide players just tore our defence apart, and it was always going to be Theo Robinson to score against us. It seems we do not like playing Tuesday nights .....hmmm
On to tomorrow, I've got us down with a draw with Oakley's predictions, but I'm thinking we might sneak it by the odd goal, with the town fans travelling in numbers again.

Fuck sake forgot Marc Richards played for Cambridge. That's a goal for them before we even kick off.

Hopeful we can sneak a 1-2 win. Think being away suits us more with space opening up for the likes of Anderson and Isgrove to try and exploit.

We'll probably come crashing back to earth with a 2-0 loss.

Our best performer and our most talented player are both out so not as confident as I probably should be considering our last two results. That said Smith has started finding the net, Richards has proven that he's still dangerous at this level, and Roles is a special talent so we definitely have a chance.

Either Reggie Lambe is being used as a wing back for the first time ever or we're going back to a back four with either Taft or Taylor on the left. Either way are left side is going to be very vulnerable.

No complaints from me so far, Swindon fully deserve their lead, and I think Roles' foul was actually in the box so they should've had a penalty just before ht.

i was going to say the ref is having a good game and probably the best one we've had so far, but then he failed to book Roles, which surely was as clear a yellow as you're ever going to see.

btw, Well taken goal by the Swindon lad as well

Just about deserved win. Cambridge were awful first half and just a bit better 2nd. Only seemed to have the hoof as an attacking option.

Our injuries seem to be piling up.

We lost this game on Tuesday when Hannant got injured, all our left side out. Lambe is a central player not a wide one.

If I was being picky the ref missed giving a yellow to a Swindon player who threw the ball into the empty part of the Habbin towards the end, but yeah not the worst ref performance ever.

A full deserved win IMO, the best side we've faced so far this season. And to think that I had Swindon down to finish in 11th or 12th in the preseason table prediction thing on here :ffs:

You're right Dan. Some U's fans think CC is the second coming or something but I'm not convinced at all. We do tend to hoof it up a lot, and before anybody says that's cos Hannant was missing, we also do it when he's in the side. And you're right on the 1st half showing as well; that's a given and something we do every single game, and all the other L2 sides know this.

Pleasing to keep a clean sheet after Tuesday. Predicted a win but could see a defeat today. Good win in another tough looking away game.

Swindon were very good and we were very poor. 1-0 flattered us.

Very frustrating to be so shit at home but have such a good away record.

Overall the ref was pretty good - with one glaring cop out.

Lambe had already been booked for fouling a player who had gone past him and when he did the exact same thing later on the ref bottled it. And then booked one of our players 5 minutes later for the same thing.

You get a weird perception watching your own team. Nice to hear Cambridge fans saying we were very good, while I thought we were average at best. We seem to play well first half then struggle somewhat in the 2nd - happened most games this season.

Agree I thought Lambe could have been sent off too. If he’d stayed on then we’d nicked a draw, you’d have had every right to be pissed off.

Swindon just controlled the game well and had that bit of “edge” for the goal when they needed it. It was an excellent performance all round.

Very happy with the 3 points from what sounds like a performance where we didn't have to be completely at our best. Nice work from Iandolo finished on the goal line by Yates for our goal.

Second half it seems like Cambridge improved, and McCormack had to make an excellent save to keep us ahead.

Very pleased to get the points at a tough opponent. I will always wish Colin Calderwood well given his playing career at us.

Our worst performance of the season by a long way. Really missed Carrtuhers and Hannant and the 3rd game in 7 days clearly took an affect on some of them.

Swindon are a good side who play between the lines. I don't think you'll go up as you seem to lack the physical presence to go to certain places and win ugly when the tough get's going. Full deserved the win on Sat.

It wasn’t an ugly win, we were shite and never really troubled you.

I think you’re a good side but will fall short due to the lack of physical players you have.

Always makes me laugh when fans say they lost just because they were shite. Nothing to do with the other side playing in a manner which made them play shite. You did enough hoofing long balls into our box pretty much all 2nd half and got very little joy.

Any coincidence that the teams at the top at the moment all appear to be those trying to play football - Exeter, Crewe, Swindon, Cheltenham even FGR without actually scoring. Add Plymouth and Bradford in there, too.

By your logic to get promoted you need a few cloggers and players who can kick the ball a long way.

I'm not knocking as a team by saying we were shite. You impressed me with the way you played, your movement and sharpness to the ball all over the pitch.

We were missing our best two players and had a 37 year old playing his third 90th minute game in 7 days. We went hoofball second half (which we haven't done in our first 9 games) this season so that's a compliment to the way you were playing.

As others have said, we were poor but could have stolen a point in the second half. It's just my opinion that you won't have enough to go up, especially when Bradford take Doyle back in Jan.

I know they've got a mean front line as it is, but why would Bradford loan Doyle to a promotion rival?

Strikes me as something we would do.

Because as far as they were concerned, Doyle was shite and costing them £5k per week. His wage savings have enabled other signings and probably couldn’t now afford to take him back.

Anyone who thinks we’ll fall away will be sorely disappointed.
