Another exciting game awaits, but this one has a huge difference...vegetable options in hospitality to accommodate our visitors!

We apparently controlled the reverse fixture yet only won 1-0. Doesn't look like we'll have a new forward in before the weekend so we're stuck with the current crop who rarely look like scoring.

Should be winning this, and we probably will, just to solidify our position firmly in midtable, but I'd quite like to see FGR stay up this season.

Boring 1-0 home win, Grainger.

Certainly far more optimistic now we've worked out how to score and we'll have young Rawson back after missing a game due to precautionary after concussion the other week so better at the back too.

From reading bits and pieces by Carlisle supporters on various forums, it seems FGR are more confident of securing a better result than the home team.
Keith Curle is coming in for a lot of criticism although Mark Cooper stated he is a decent manager.

Carlisle have that recent away win at TNL which should give them some confidence but in the small time since then FGR have almost completely changed their team. We now have more experienced players including a couple of goalscorers [Reid & Grubb] to compliment Doidge up front.
And of course scoring 5 goals in the last game will greatly boost confidence within the camp.

Long trip up north. Coach leaves at 7am for furthest away trip of season. Only previous time we have visited CU we came away with a win. Relegation threatened FGR need a win more than comfortable mid-table Carlisle. I think we will come away with at least a draw.

I'll be making the long trip up tomorrow and I'm very confident of getting some points, then hopefully we'll get a run started! Will not be a nice journey if we lose!

Went to Carlisle back in 05, good ground and some decent boozers.

With 8 new signings since we played Carlisle at home last month, and lost pretty comfortably, we should be more competetive this time. Definitely got goals in us.

The irony that this is the stand the FGR fans will be in :shifty:

I wonder if FGR's official photographer will be trying to avoid getting the giant beefburger in shots of the FGR fans.

Why? Most of our fans will probably be tucking into burgers as the pics being taken. :2thumb:

I know very few of our fans that are actually veggies, including our photographer.

I don't know many fans who are vegetarian either but all are happy to eat the food served at the ground, unlike the Carlisle chairman apparently who was scared at the prospect of eating a salad or a meal that didn't contain some form of meat...and I thought that travel was supposed to broaden the mind!

Back to the game tomorrow, I think that Carlisle will find us a different proposition to the game at our place, we have sorted out some of the defensive frailties and started to find a bit of form at the other end of the pitch. We have gone from ineptitude and out of our depth to giving teams more of a game, hopefully continuing tomorrow.

Draw or away win, probably the latter as it's that time of the year when the struggling sides start to pick up much needed wins. #couponbustertime.

PS - has Carver been banned again or something?

Carver was very busy chasing some other bloke's fiancee I think?

You never know, maybe he got lucky?

Yeah but surely Vinny wouldn't want the official photos to include advertising for a meat company, especially one whose owner criticised the food at the New Lawn.

Dunno, I noticed on the General thread that he's back to having no profile pic.

By the way, I fixed your post for you, I presume that's what you meant.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Bored to death of this season. But we’ve finally signed a new striker. He can’t be any worse than carthorse Bennett that’s for sure so hopefully we become a little bit more entertaining.

I was at that match back then too, it remains one of the shitest ive ever seen where we've got beat.

Ive not worked with her for a few weeks now, had different shift patterns, so the feelings have died down a fair bit. It was stupid.

Nah im still here but when my team is having a dull mid table already over nothing season, all my energy in giving a shit about them gets completly sapped. Plus i have real life stuff to sort out more often now that I want a woman in my life.

Why? Are you missing me Vanni?

Have I missed anything happen here?

Not really, we started using your match thread for a bit, much to the delight of the Grimsby fans, though our reasoning was more one of superstition. The rest of us have been pretty quiet too given how uninspiring our season is proving.

I've transitioned into my mid-table fan persona, where I just focus on going to matches and hopefully enjoying a win but not paying much attention to how that affects the table or what the rest of the season might mean for us, sort of like an extended pre-season for next year.

I don't need a parking spot, I live the Ecotricity dream and walk to the ground.

As for Dale Vince's comments about how in the near future those who eat meat will be viewed in the same way that we now view those who owned slaves in the past; no, just no Dale... the two aren't even remotely comparable. I have a lot of vegan friends and know that his views are pretty extreme by vegan standards.

It's not just on the pitch where things are dull, it's off it as well behind the scenes.

I know we could be worse off like Hartlepool and Stockport etc but it does not make me feel any better. The owners had a chance 3 years ago to sell the club to Andrew Lapping who seemed like a genuine guy who could run our club like a 21st century club and who knows maybe we'd be run properly like Burton Albion who are punching far far above their weight and it's all down to being run well on tight budgets.

But no that deal is long gone now and all that's left is a shit no hope for the future club. THEY are killing us.

Anyone who would be delusional to think like that must obviously have some kind of mental illness.

If not then he's just looking for more greenie points.

Stats seem to be saying that the one shot on target is the goal. Hoping the wind will favour us second half as we've only has the one off target.

Cleared one off the line that I missed the build up to having a tab. Still not registered a shot on target ourselves so can't complain too much unless it's true about the pen shout.
