Really big game for both teams this weekend and one we really can't afford to lose. From the outside it doesn't look good for us but the performances have been excellent in recent weeks we are creating so many chances and if it wasn't for goal line clearances and inspired goalkeeping we'd have more points on the board from the last 2 games. But we really need to find the goal scoring touch which is all that's missing. Never have I felt so comfortable sitting 20th in the league I'm very confident that soon things will click and we will win a lot of matches. Think we will draw this game 1-1 but if it we find out goal scoring touch and the performance is as good as the last two and a half games we could win this one.

Adam Murray should get a decent enough reception, he didn't do masses here but did score our first ever goal in a cup final which is a positive, plus was about for a good time for the club, I bet he's some nice memories.

big Big match though, but we still lack wingers for me to play something positive.

Could go either way this one, really not sure on what to expect from the game given the circumstances. Neither side is going to want to lose this and end up either in the relegation zone or even closer so it could be a cagey affair, but neither manager likes to sit back so if there's an early goal it could end up a very open game.

Like has been said our performances have been there and hopefully if we start scoring more will start flowing and luck goes our way for a change. We can't get complacent though and keep feeling sorry for ourselves, truth is if other sides had the chances we've had they would probably put them away. Away from home we aren't exactly convincing which is why I'm anxious, we really can't afford to keep losing games. I'd take another 0-0 if you offered it me now.

Mansfield battered us last saturday and not many teams can say that this season. If our keeper Matt Ingram hadn't been in inspired form we'd have lost heavily plus they hit the post twice. If they play like that again on saturday i'd expect them to get all 3 points. I'd love to see Mansfield climb away from the bottom after what they did for us on the last day of the season.

A comfortable 2-0 away win.

Another shite home performance to hammer another nail into our coffin.

Think we'll win this, a must win for both sides, and anything less just isn't enough. Saying that, the last couple of home games have been shockingly bad. Even if we win, we've just been too inconsistent all season, and I can see us getting thumped at Tranmere the following week

We've scored freely most season, it's just the defence has been leaky even with TAH at the back.

Looking at the table, we could leapfrog several teams if we win and results go our way.

Terrible today, but its not cold just snow and if any covers would be fine apart from transport worries.

I am unsure if I want us to win this game or not..............we've signed no where near enough players and deadline is looming, I am worried that we've done nothing much for our attack, no wingers, no creativity, no skill

ok away when you want to dig deep, but like this weekend come the home games we have nothing to change to something more positive.

would a win allow our useless board an excuse to not do anything more and rely on loanees for restof season, would a defeat see some work finally done

Curle has said publicly that we are trying to get 2 more in before the end of the month. I think he realises that we can't go on with what we've got. I reckon after last seasons horrendous January window which cost is our league one place, the useless board will know it has to be different this year.

Looking at the Met office site it's going to be 4 on Friday and 6 on Saturday in Carlisle. Hopefully it will be alright, more snow on it's way tonight I think though

I think Kearns has the ability to be a creative player for us, just hasn't played much so far, for several reasons. From the glimpses I've seen of him he looks like a tricky winger which is what we need. Think some fans got annoyed with the amount of unnecessary stepovers he done.

I'd line up with:
Gillespie
Young TAH O'Hanlon Grainger
Griffith
Kearns/Potts CMW Dempsey
Wyke Rigg

The pitch will be absolutely fine. I can't remember the last time we had a postponement to be honest.

The issue will be the paths surrounding the stadium, they are apparently very slippery today.

I'd expect Charlie Wyke to make his home debut, likewise Griffith. I doubt Buddle will play a part, might be on the bench at the most.

have not listened to first half but going off our forum we've done absolute nothing and deserve behind.

completely ineffective up front, but that is no surprise since Curle becomes the 3rd manager in a row to seemingly decide we don't need any wingers at all.

I think the last time i seen a decent wide man at Carlisle was Hackney back in 2008....6 odd years of whacking strikers out wide of full backs out wide or central midfielders out wide and just assuming they can do a great job there o_O

and here comes what i predicted all through end of December and January, our board would p*ss about this entire month to try and scrimp and save every little penny and come the very end of the month will we panic like mad (if we lose this today expect the mad panic) and chuck a load of money on 2-3 unplanned panic buys who end up not good enough because we didn't just let the manager have this money which suddenly becomes available back in November to get these players sorted earlier.

we do it every single time for the last 5-6 seasons..........and this time it could cost us our league status.

Tranmere winning....Dagenham winning......Hartlepool winning

this is a very bad day for a defeat, even a goal and a point would be crucial.

With the teams up at the top losing too we could use the points. Only fourteen points off the play-offs as things stand.

Seriously dire game of football between 2 dire teams.

The first half was like field mill again, only Mansfield were shit as well.
We played more football in the second half and got a vital win.

Serious improvements are needed if we are to get out of this shit. We need to start home games on the front foot and not resort to turning home games into a scrap.

Did anyone else have a good view of the penalty incident second half? Looked an absolute stone waller to me. Couldn't believe the ref waved it away.

No but the BBCRC commentators seemed to believe Adam Murray admitted as much to the Radio Nottingham commentators after the game... And that the Mansfield goal came from a cross from a player who should have been offside. The referee had a terrible game.

I'm pretty happy with what I saw today... We were as poor in the first half as we know we are so no surprise there, although didn't look as calamitous at the back as we usually do, Mansfield were equally poor and it was a dull half. We don't usually play hoofball but seemed content in the first half to just get the unsophisticated side of the game to a broadly adequate level... But Mansfield scored.

We improved in the second half and showed great character as we could have decided we were being mugged by the ref and just waiting until full time to pull out the excuses but instead we fought our way back into it and probably deserved the win just about since that 20 minutes after our equaliser was the only positive spell of play offered by either team.

The first half was one of the poorest games of football I have seen in over 40 years of watching Carlisle. Both teams where rubbish , seen and played in better games in local football, thankfully the second half was a little better , we deserved the win but it was a battle literally.Thankfully Mansfield took the best payer on the pitch today off in the second half , after that there was little threat.

There was word on BBCRC of unsavoury scenes between the Mansfield coaches (not Murray) and the Carlisle ground staff. In short (and they got video evidence should the club ask for it) the Mansfield players came out to warm down, Dave Mitchell the head groundsman was doing whatever it is he needs to do with the pitch after a game and asked the coaches if they could keep the warmdown outside the touchline and was promptly told to fuck off. Then the Mansfield players came onto the pitch to warm down and a fracas ensued.

Wank. Terrible game, 2 absolute dog shite teams. Carlisle deserved that. After all the football we've played in the last 2 games, why the fuck we have gone here and reverted to long ball I don't know. Simon Hesop is a waste of space!

Our best player was Blair and he's gone off injured and will more than likely miss the rest of the season. Fucking great. We are in a big relegation battle here, I'd recall Bingham now aswell, bollocks to giving him game time! Hartlepool keep picking up wins, they'll catch us at this rate!

All second half it looked like it was kicking off on the benches. Think when you equalised a few of yours fans went banging on the dug out and our lot spat there dummies at, if only they were that passionate on the pitch!

Also I was sat directly in line with the penalty incident, I've seen them given, not really sure where Smith could have gone but we were lucky otherwise he'd of been off.

The Ref and Linesmen (Infront of our fans) were terrible. Never a free kick which led to Carlisle's first IMO but oh well. Not going to blame the officials for how bloody awful we were today.

It did become quite bad tempered in the second half. At one point I thought if Troy Archibald-Henville wasn't being restrained by three Carlisle players he was gonna deck the ref. We all thought the ref was a Mansfield fan, with the offside for your goal, our first half disallowed goal for a soft foul and the penalty claim not given... along with numerous other decisions such as a corner not given, a couple of free kicks not given and a some questionable decisions over when to and when not to play advantage. Then I went on your forum to see what your fans were saying and you had a similarly long list of grievances against him, and against the same linesman.

There was a point where he gave us a corner after a free kick we took clearly went out of play without being touched, then probably realising his mistake, he blew for a Mansfield free kick for a spurious foul on the goalie as soon as the corner came in. Not an exemplary refereeing display overall.
