Ok, so based on what you’ve seen of Bennett over his first season and a bit, would you be happy if he triggers his extra year on his contract, or do you think it would be better for the club if he got released at the end of this season?

Don't know, that's a different question really, I never said he'd been playing well for the club overall but you react with utter horror and astonishment every time i suggest there's a footballer in there.

Because I just don’t see it. I felt he was a dud signing from day 1 and over a season later I’m not seeing anything that makes me think otherwise.

He is a huge huge part of why we’re so toothless and shite going forward. He’s the senior forward in our ranks, the others are youngsters who are still developing. Swap Bennett with a decent forward and 1 player could make a world of difference to us as an attacking threat. Like Gerrard has done to the defence and Hill did last season, 1 player can make a difference. It doesn’t even have to be a prolific 20 a season man, just someone with better quality and a football brain. Make that change up front and we could be a half decent team.

Up to about 2 weeks ago Oliver's been one of the most unpopular players we've had for years. Not a league 2 footballer, doesn't try, appalling goal for game ratio for a striker, can't control the ball, doesn't read the game, can't understand why Bentley perseveres with him. He's now scored 2 in 2 and he seems to have turned opinion. Fickle football fans eh?

Couldn't make it but It was probably "Jimbo" AKA as Sir Jim of Bentley also resurrectedly popular after a few recent performances and wins............ more fickleness there
