I started this thread, so I take full responsibility for the shambles it's turning into.
The Hartlepool fans haven't even turned up to hammer the final nail into the coffin yet.

EDIT FOR CLARITY:

Once the Poolies turn up on a thread, everyone else may as well pack up and go home because within a few short posts the original topic will be nothing but a distant memory.

I feel like this game could be pivotal in the first half of our season. To give ourself a chance of playoffs we have to be within touching distance come January so we can make the additions required to propel us into the top 7 in the second half of the season. As things are I don't think we're good enough for top 7, so we'd need to strengthen in January but to do that we need to stay within sight of it and not be well adrift.

If we win today I think it would be a decent start and we could go into the tough run of upcoming fixtures with a bit of confidence and hopefully pick up more points. Fail to win again and it represents a poor start of 2 wins from 9 and this winless run will start to become a real issue which could end up turning into 5 or 6 games and so on.

It's ridiculous to call a game must win in September but in terms of where our season could go it's important we win today. We've already made a worse start to this season than we did last season, so we need to get our act together.

Mowgli, still not forgiven your lads for not beating Blackpool last week !! Your manager doing a great job and there must be plenty of optimism around for the season. You will win this game
We played Blackpool weeks ago mate. To be honest there's not much optimism among Wycombe fans right now and Ainsworth is losing support from his die hard fans and coming over to my view of him which is not favourable.

I think he thinks you're a Carlisle fan... we played Blackpool at the weekend, and not saying that our fans are all optimistic but it would make no sense at all to call a Wycombe fan optimistic given a fairly 'meh' start you've had.

In that case Carver is Wycombe through and through.

I always presumed Carver was one of the self-styled ultras who call themselves Carvetii. Probably stands just a few short paces from me in the Warwick. I have noticed there's a few regulars missing from that area of late.

All he said was 5-0 written all over it. Thought it was hardly worth posting to be honest.

Long and fruitless trip for Wycombe who's handful of fans will be checking their mobiles in the hope that compensation arrives in the form of a Slough defeat.

Why would we be bothered about a team who didn't have their own ground in non league until a couple of weeks ago? I thought you were banned anyway.

Fuck me That starting 11 is rank! I assume that's Kennedy on the wing.

This is going to be one ugly game of football. Hope we can scrape the points but I doubt it.

Fuck off, the Tinkerman strikes again.

The thought of Kennedy on the wing makes me wanna spew a little. Glad I'm not going...

We're looking at our first defeat here, at best a point. But I can see Hayes and Akinfenwa having a field day against those 2 CBs, pure bullied.

Good news for Carlisle the beast starts as Southwell is out with an injury caused in training, fuck knows what Ainsworth makes the players do but that's 6 players out with injuries while training.

I was guessing 4-3-3 with Miller and Adams on the wing.

I'm really surprised we've not gone back to 4-2-3-1, we've played well every time we've used it.

Hayes and Akinfenwa start for Wycombe, imagine they'll target Gillesphey..

It's because half of our moronic fanbase think its a crime against football to start with 1 central striker

Absolutely toothless yet again and because of some shitty defending Wycombe could be ahead at half time without even playing that well. No doubt we'll continue being toothless second half and then get raped up the arse as per usual and from then on it will be an uphill battle to scrape a point.

Honestly cannot see why any of our fans think this is a team capable of promotion. There's absolutely no evidence to support this from our performances at the moment.

To be fair today is not even that bad, just toothless with a couple of dodgy moments defensively which in itself is a recipe for disaster.

Hold on Shoddy, you're the only one I know who picks up the programme a good 3 hours before. Do you live like only 2 mins away from the ground?
Pretty much, I'm home now having stayed to clap the players off the pitch.

I paid for a subscription to the programme and pick it up from the club shop so prefer to pick it up early and read it at home rather than queue up for it before kick-off and have to shove it in a pocket for the match.

Massive 3 points. Made hard work of it, but gettin the opening goal was key, and we held out.

Not a great performance, however when Devitt came on and we switched to 4-2-3-1 we played some great stuff and looked a threat every time we went forward. We have to build our team on that basis, otherwise we're just piss poor to mediocre.

Hopefully now we've stopped the rot we can build on it and performances start to improve.

Just read that we hit the post twice, we must be getting better if we had 2 chances in one game
