It's nights like last night which remind me why I hate Liverpool.

To a man, their fans are fucking unbearable, they make United fans seem sound.
First time we've been this far in a decade, and with a decent shot at getting to the semi's; can you not understand our delight at that?

Nobody will be desperate to be get Liverpool. Their pressing from the front is superb and most European sides like to build up from the back (particularly Barcelona).

I do stress that Liverpool aren't through yet though, City are a good side. Liverpool need to go with attutude of being on the front foot next week, that's what they're good at. Going off Jurgen Klopp's post match interview, he didn't want his team that deep second half yesterday. They were praised for good defending second half and rightly, but I don't think that was the plan or what they're most adept at. Salah going off perhaps made an impact on that.
Indeed, this tie is far from over; there is a lot of work to be done yet. Hopefully we can get an away goal at the Etihad early on to finish it.

Imagine the embarrassment if Liverpool lost to Everton this weekend

We haven't been less arsed about a derby in years; this may be your time Toddles to actually win one - when was the last one 15 years back or so was it?

All football Europe needs Liverpool FC now.
Except for two certain individuals in Scotland, one of whom is pretending to be Scottish.

Think Pagnell jumped the gun on his earlier post.

I didn't. Your use of the word "desperate" was stupid. You just can't help yourself when it comes to anything English, it's bitter and boring. You're the personification of tedium.

Don't worry he does it with us Scots too, he said I shouldn't support the national side and was a typical pessimistic supporter; just because I've been critical of them.

I meant Hugh and Spear. Like how could that possibly refer to you
Wow, Spear, now that is a blast from the past! Forgot all about him tbh! He'll be off on Facebook doing his stuff no doubt. :)

So you don't disagree with the position but rather the manner in which it was expressed?

If you change the word "desperate" to something else, would you agree with the post?

Liverpools CL record recently is far below that of the other three, I think desperate is an appropriate description. You may disagree, but then you have a stake in this game and I don't.

Indeed, they would have been "desperate" to have met Mbappes Monaco, not that they were a bad side by any means.

No need to take it so personally.

You criticised the national team after an away victory calling the players "shite" and referring to a "pub league manager".

It was completely ridiculous and clearly untrue.

Indicative of someone who would criticise Scotland as being useless for losing to Brazil away.

I can, doesn't mean it isn't horrible for everyone else.

Sorry I must've missed the Brazil 1970 level of football we showed against the mighty footballing nations of Costa Rica and Hungary; perhaps it was due to the amount of world class players we had on the bench, and that wonderful progressive manager who puts Pep Guardiola to shame.

Would any of our lot (especially the many English born players) get anywhere near the England team at this moment? Perhaps Robertson might, but no one else would; yet we up here always like to have a laugh at them for not, oh no, getting to the quarters or semi-finals of these competitions! They are no great shakes either and will probably not do much in the World Cup; but compared to us, they are world beaters, whilst we would struggle against one of their League 2 sides.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Been away because it’s Easter holidays.

Very disappointed with the performance but not surprised. The mental block at Anfield continues. Something like three wins there since 1963. I’d have hoped that it would have been a little bit tighter, but ho hum.

If Liverpool can whine for months that a red card for kicking the keeper in the head makes a 5-0 win a travesty of justice, then perhaps I can bemoan a couple of tight offside calls, but nah. It’s the result I half expected from the draw onwards:

Events before the game were pathetic, mind. Even down to the police announcing the new route to fans.

To be fair they probably did do it on purpose.

Perhaps, but in Silky's head they would only do such a thing to City and to appease those at the head of the shadowy anti-City conspiracy network known only as "the Blueminati".

How many chances to overturn the result of the first leg have Juventus, Manchester City, Rome and Sevilla?

Juventus 5% - Real Madrid 95%
Manchester City 35% - Liverpool 65%
Rome 10% - Barcelona 90%
Sevilla 20% - Bayern Munchen 80%

Sevilla have a better chance than Man City. They might be playing away but they only lost by 1, and Bayern were lucky as fook in that first leg.
