Great win against the odds given Bristol's almost complete dominance from about the 10 minute mark. However, as has already been said for all their dominance, aside from a few powder puff headers, there was little real threat of an equaliser. Akinde had the games only other clear opening but he was denied by a decent save.

Not a pretty performance from us at all but we showed great determination and effort to hold out when reduced to ten men and after last weeks shambles, that's a much needed three points to keep us on track for a comfortable if not spectacular first season back up. Which will do me just fine.

Really hope Yiadoms red is recinded but I'm not hopeful, , we ended up with 4 kids on the bench today.

Just seen the replay and theres not a chance in hell it will be recinded. Are Barnet actually appealing it?!

For me, he's dived in, feet off the floor and doesn't get the ball - looks a red to me

His feet aren't off the floor but he did dive in. The ref's reaction was immediate, he wasn't influenced by the Rovers' players.
Lots of people on the Barnet forum think that the Rovers' player dived for their penalty shout later on.

One footed, not off the ground and his foot didnt bring down the player, it was actually his momentum. The only thing clear from it is both players were stretching for the ball and Yids momentum meant he couldnt avoid the contact with your player. Looked far worse in real time

He won the ball, you can clearly see that in the replay. Has to be rescinded!

It doesn't matter if he won the ball or not these days. He was sent off because the tackle was deemed reckless and dangerous. I have some sympathy with him but I doubt it will get rescinded.

I actually think the red card did Barnet a favour because we struggle to break down teams that get everyone behind the ball.

We dominated the game from the moment we went behind but I think our clearest openings came before the sending off.

After that Barnet got 2 banks of 4 accross the penalty area and we couldn't find away through. However we wasted countless half chances.

I think if we'd managed to score before the final 10 minutes we'd have gone on to win the game but our final ball let us down and our shooting was wayward. Nearly 20 attempts on goal but only 5 on target. As others have said, many went out the ground!

I also think we'd have won the game had Gaffney been playing but that's ifs, buts and maybes.

We were 5-3-1 after the sending off. I agree, however if Gambins final ball to Akinde had been softer and straighter then it would've been 2-0 before the sending off.
The biggest difference in the sides for me was the aerial battle. Your midfield won everything in the air and got control of the ball, our keeper just couldn't get the ball up the pitch and in play so was gifting you possession. This dictated the style of the game and meant we were on the back foot for most of the match. Our keeper did have the worst of the conditions but there was already a problem in the first half and to often you appeared to be able to mount an attack from our goal kicks. I think we had the better of the first 10-15 min tbh

Rightly or wrongly, in today's world you go in off your feet whether you win the ball or not, that is a pretty blatent red.

Whilst I understand your point, thats a bit clutching at straws saying if you made a better pass it could have been 2-0. He didn't even get to the ball, never mind shoot. I could argue all day long that if just 1 of our 18 shots went in, we could have won 18-1, never mind passes into the box.

And sorry Urban, in the 2nd screenshot, he looks off his feet. He also doesn't look like he gets the ball to me as it looks like Sinclair gets the pass away first. As mentioned above, even if he did get the ball, its a wreckless and dangerous challenge which in todays game, warrants a red card. I do feel that if the camera was the otherwise of the stadium though, we'd have a better view.

Are Barnet appealing then?

Not sure we are watching the same highlights,
Akinde definitely got to the ball, had a shot and your keeper did well to stop it with his face

18 shots at the neighboring training pitches and our keeper barely tested by them warrants bugger all. I can think of two occasions our keeper had to stretch and one was a cross that caught the wind. On no occasion can I think of a 1-on-1 with our keeper were you would expect a striker to put it away.

The shooting in this is hilarious. The fans behind the goal were more at risk.

And yet the tackle met none of the criteria for a reckless or dangerous challenge.

Failed to win ball? No
Studs up? No
Feet off floor? No
Two footed? No.

Feet off the floor? Debateable
Was he in control ?
Was it reckless ?
I'm not really in disagreement with you despite your narky tone. We'll see what happens but I'd be surprised if it was rescinded.

Bugger, my mistake, I was thinking of the chance where your ball through on the right was slightly over hit and your striker (certainly not Akinde, not sure why I thought it was Akinde for a moment haha) just couldn't get to the ball and Mildenhall came out an collected. For the life of me now though, I can't find the highlight anywhere! Starting to think when I googled highlights, I must have seen a chance from last seasons game!

Tbf though, I wouldn't really expect Akinde to score from there, thats a tight angle in his defence.

Stephens made team of the week. Not sure why, couple of regulation stops and some poor kicking.
