Rotherham is an alright trip, the ground is a bland bowl job but there's a bunch of pubs nearby and you can always go via Sheffield.

Why is Brighton's away following so poor?

Mind you I remember when they couldnt sell 30k for a play off final.

Haven't seen them turn up to Reading in a while....

It's weird how those West London clubs don't tend to take many to us.

Fulham taking 1.7k for a Saturday 3pm kickoff, when we're under an hour away is dreadful.

How many did we take to you, wasnt it about 2k? Which was on a Tuesday night and on Sky, so I would say that it was pretty good to be honest with you, especially as we did not even have a manager then.

Our games are always on Sky, and they are normally always a shit game.

That's nothing to do with being on Sky Matt! ;)

Fair play, but my point still stands (kind of, I thought we took 1700 odd and I was there, so I should have known better). Our followings to Reading arent too bad, considering it is a shit away day. How can a stadium not had a pub anywhere near it?!

It's so frigging sanitised nowadays, plod on every fucking station and train, herded into boozers, £70 on the train to London on the day, fuck off
We used to go in tranny vans loaded with ale or the football specials and you were guaranteed a welcoming committee wherever you were going. Places like Oldham, Lincoln and Grimsby were just as lively as the bigger clubs.

No where near as bad as others are saying when you haven't got anything at all to play for.

that's just basically small clubs though except Leeds, put real teams midweek and you'd get close to 800's with Wednesday, Wolves etc

3 tiny Lancashire teams and Hull , don't really prove nobody travels to Ipswich midweek

Fair play roversfan2001, you're thick skinned I'll give you that
If he is 14/15 then you should all be trying your best not to stress him out, as we all know how 14/15 year old boys like to de-stress... :bdick: :bg1:

A bunch of? And there was me thinking it was us that were from New York....

Rotherham is a better away trip than Preston. It has lb for lb more pubs and the train station is closer. Ground wise, I like both. Preston's is a good example of turning a heap (and I went in the plastic pitch days) into a modern day decent ground yet retaining its character. Ours is a new-build but for a start isn't a bowl in shape, and it's also been deliberately designed with a steep rake so you're close to the action wherever you're sat. The atmosphere is good as it's predominantly full and you don't get hassle from the locals unless you go looking for it.

In fact, most clubs' fans speak highly of it as an away day for these reasons, plus we're pretty beatable. Preston can never fetch more than 1,200 here, but that says more about their support than it does about the away day experience here.

Preston station is about 25 minutes away from the ground and there are plenty of boozers on route.

I've never been to the NYS so I won't comment, but Preston was a proper good day out. Cheap train up, pleasant walk through the city to the ground, nice traditional ground and a decent result.

No trouble from any of the locals either, we were sat in a Spoons not far from the ground and were joined in there by a few of the regulars who were speaking to us about the season they've had etc. I'd have gone again this season if it was on a Saturday.

Charlton have sold just over 500 for Saturday's trip to Hillsborough....

I do hope they're well behaved :bg: because lower tier of West stand is open to home supporters.

We could get buried in black and white beach balls. :ds:

Come on, it's definitely a boring generic bowl. The steep rake is good though.

Rotherham is a better away trip than Preston..

What's wrong with saying a bunch of? Pretty common phrase.

Surely you should ask neutrals which is a better away trip, considering you've never done an away trip to your own ground....

I've been to your new ground twice, it's not a very good away day.

I don't give a shit to be honest, it's Rotherham...

At no point in history have Rotherham took more to Deepdale than we've taken there..

and your ground is a shitty bowl like Doncaster or Shrewsbury...

Out of the 2, I prefer PNE. Great stadium, lovely people and we usually take a few plus we have been promoted there ( they have at ours as well fwiw).
Last season for instance, I had 2 Preston supporters offer me access to clubs they drink in which we normally could not go in.
Fine people are Preston fans.

Rotherhams more central than pne and has loads of boozers to choose from all walking distance to the ground. Preston has plenty in the centre but its a cab from town and a fucking joke trying to get one back so on that basis rotherham wins. The grounds and atmospheres are not worth talking about as atmosphere doesnt exist anywhere in this country. However iv had some cracking nights in preston but thats mainly due to having pals up there.

Rotherham love you lot though so you can go in most boozers, we get the short shrift.
