Yeah loved Milllmoor it was a proper old fashioned ground and the away end was great for making a racket like you say, bit similar to Blundell Park in some ways, im hoping proper clubs like yourselfs, Lincoln, Wrexham, Stockport and Tranmere get back to where you should be soon, clubs what take 50 fans away like Accrington, Dagenham and Morecombe get right on my tits.

I'd go back to Millmoor tommorow.

No i wouldn't, loved Millmoor but NYS stadium is on another level, only had 4 seasons there and theres been loads of great moments in there already.

Totally agree with you.

Millmoor was our spiritual home but it was a dump.

When it was made into an all seater it lost most of its atmosphere and was never quite the same.
The seats were put in on the old steps and there was no room for your legs, you had to sit sideways on on those in the Tivoli.

The unfinished new main stand would have been just as rubbish if it had ever been finished.

Opposition fans have a nostalgic view of Millmoor because you could generate fantastic noise in the Railway end but it was crap when the seats were put in because the steps were too shallow.
When I first started watching us, home fans would move into the Railway end at half time if we had been forced by the opposition to kick the wrong way.
It was much better for acoustics than the Tivoli end so no wonder away fans liked it.

NYS has been brilliant, we have had almost as much success in it in 4 years as we had in our entire time at Millmoor.
I have great memories of some fantastic matches at Millmoor, but would I want to go back? ......not in a million years.

Mind you I would have crawled back to Millmoor to get away from the Don Valley, but it all worked out in the end.

If you remember it as it finished up it's easier to dismiss it.

When it was all standing apart from the old main stand it was a shit hole but it was our shit hole and I loved it.

I would have liked to have had a farewell match there just to day goodbye to the old girl, but a full season.... no chance.

I think we have only allocated 5,000+ once before since that stand opened in '99.

Yeah, that's the one. Preston, Reading, West Ham, Wolves and Villa had around 4,000. I think Liverpool and Coventry may have as well when we played them in the FA Cup.

No chance pal. Average is slightly over 2600 and with just Hull (2400) and Preston (5600) they can't go above 2750 or so

FairPlay, mind you Brighton away on a Friday night is quite a good one for London sides. Couple of days/nights in Brighton and short journey home. Still good numbers though.

It is our last home game of the season, so we might sell out. Also, if you arent going to sell out then it was probably (more likely than us selling out) your club that turned it down, seeing as you have to pay for the full allocation.

They are taking double what we are, but ours is on a Tuesday night. As you say, a Friday night in Brighton would be appealing to a lot of fans. I wish ours was on a Friday, cracking night out in Brighton.
