Disappointing to see us drop so much year on year, but can see the reasons why.

Still averaging 1000 though is pretty impressive for you I think. More than 7 other clubs

Fair play Walkley, another cracking effort this season :hail:

I'm happy with Blues' away numbers this year, a decent increase on last year which is representative of the more positive mood around the club at the moment.

Some cracking days out this year, already looking forward to next season.

Agreed. Would be nice to see it building year on year instead of falling, but you've got to expect that for the second season in a division.

Would think most people's averages will go up quite a bit next season with Villa and Newcastle away being added, though ours may suffer as we're losing Charlton.

At least we're top of one of the tables, 9th in the away averages is a decent effort.

Home average is disappointing but they are what they are, won't change unless we see some cheaper season tickets or gain promotion.

Not bad in the end from us to say we finished just above relegation, Fulham, Reading and Cardiff all finished above us in the table and averaged below us even though they get double our crowds and our two biggest away games Wednesday and Leeds charge stupid ticket prices aswel which would have brought our average up by a lot more. I honestly think there isn't 1 club in England who are a similar size club or smaller than us what touches our away support imo.

Yours is average in my opinion you barely have to travel compared to most other clubs in this league. With mileage factors included you are second bottom only to Charlton.

As for similar/smaller sized clubs with better away support, I hate them but the Gas immediately spring to mind.

home fans taken away is a better and more accurate way of doing it, were 6th in that table having been shit most of the season. The mileage factor doesn't really reflect on away support for me, a derby is a derby wether its 5 miles which in our case to Sheffield, or Plymouth to Exeter for example which is probably 30 to 40 miles, also some places take longer to get to even though its less milage, for example its only about 40 miles from Rotherham to Burnley but takes around 2 hours.

Haven't took much notice of Bristol Rovers on what they take away but if there were in the championship with a newish stadium like us then they would have better home support than ours so id class them as a bit bigger tbh.

Bristol City fans really are tiresome bores aren't they?

Let's get this out of the way for next season so we don't have the same. Bristol City fans have a fair distance to travel, don't they compared to other clubs? Even though they only take a few hundred to Cardiff, but yeah, they're so hard done by. And if Bristol Rovers were in this division they'd at least be matching home attendances and hammering them away, but let's gloss over that, eh? Oh, and we'l be negative about our chances because then we'll be able to justify our lower midtable followings despite being one of the (as always acclaimed) biggest cities in England. Now that that's out the way...

Ours at 995 is reasonable, but we should be doing better. Our dispicable home record played a part along with some brutal far flung Tuesday away games at Brighton, Reading, Fulham, Bristol City, and to a lesser extent Boro. We were unfortunate that Blackburn and Huddersfield fell on Tuesdays, but our followings to Derby, Forest, Wednesday and Burnley were not on par with what we'd expect. Had Hull allocated us extra tickets given thousands of empty home end seats we'd have surpassed the 1,000 mark but alas not.

Surprised ours was not lower as we had very low followings for much of the past couple of months.

Nearly 1000 for us, with being 17th in the league and with the fourth worst away record is good by our standards. We used to struggle to get more than that a few years back when we were in the top 8 most the season.

The fuck is wrong with you?

You just wrote a long paragraph slating Bristol City football club because of my comment on your away average, only to then in the following paragraph agree with my comment anyway.

I'd also love to see the gas match our 15k home average in a ground that doesn't even hold 12k.

You're weird mate.

Great stuff Walkley, hope you have a great time in Mag, but a better time in Brighton. I mean at the match, not with the boys! ;-)

I reckon ours comes close, our 6th season in the Conference and final average of just under 700, our last 3 aways with nothing to play for brought this down it was at 770 before that.
Never in with a proper shout at the title well behind all season, but our away support always stays strong and most impressive for me about ours is that 10 of our 23 games were night matches including mammoth trips to Barrow, Forest Green, Cheltenham, Woking, Bromley and Aldershot, all around 400+ mile round trips.
I think considering we are 3 leagues below you, ours definitely rivals yours as small teams with excellent support goes, and it works out at 15.7% of our home support travelling away.
