Around 1600 as of yesterday. I'd rather we'd sold 0. Will be perceived as poor support but won't be anywhere near few enough to make the owners think "hang on, no fuckers come and they're only up the road, maybe we should lower our prices".

In all honesty if money was no object I'd be going, even if we are guaranteed to lose as usual. Instead though, I'm more than happy to sack it off and pay 20 quid at Burton on Tuesday

The fact is we are paying the same price at your place

Have to say I agree with you, personally I would like to see no away fans and less than 10k home fans. Something would have been done then.

As you say some will slate your following, I don't think it's bad considering early KO and stupid prices.
Fully understand your clubs reciprocal pricing policy, how good would it be to see full houses at both grounds at say £25.
Unfonately our owner sees things a different way and has conned our fans into thinking they are getting bargain season tickets, when they are still well overpriced but appear decently priced compared to matchay prices.
He will see it as a success selling over 20k season tickets and average crowds over 27k, but the bigger picture is he has lost lots of supporters who would go to a few matches a season and will probably never get them back again.

what about the other 2,700 when you sell them?
2nd season down. Try 13!
Villa:bg:
If we take 3k to Preston for a midweek televised game you really can't fault it. You cannot compare us to Leeds as you are in a different league regarding away support. Our away support would be like Sheffield Wednesday if we were down here for 13 years.

In fairness after 13 years away from the top flight only 2 or 3 clubs in the whole country would get bigger away numbers than Leeds, they have superb away numbers (even if plenty of em are scum)
Ours are also good numbers considering it is 17 years (and counting) away and in only 2 of those years have we looked even remotely likely to challenge to get back.
3k to Preston midweek is great, for everybody except Leeds in this League.

If Leeds weren't doing well they wouldn't be taking 3k away midweek after 13 years of being down. The past few seasons have proved they wouldn't. The difference is their support on the road wouldn't drop like ours has after only two seasons of being down here. They have the biggest fanbase in the league with huge support locally and nationwide. No one else in this league has both on that level. Man Utd, Liverpool, Leeds and Everton imo are the top clubs for away support.

Sold out Sheffield United (2,251).

Won two of our last 21 away. And have only failed to sell out Hull this season and Leeds midweek. We are gluttonous for pain and misery!

Your away support has been brilliant this season.

It doesn’t look like the Blues/Villa match on Sunday will sell out. Load of seats stil unsold in one of the Gil Merrick blocks. Code Red everywhere else.

I'd argue the Geordies are better than Everton.

Why? Not having a dig, but you only have a small ground and you have a big enough fanbase to easily sell out. How much are tickets? I mean don't get me wrong it's not always a sell out at VP, although it is most of the time, and even when it don't it's still over 40k. The league cup game the other year was only 34k mind, but league games usually sell out.

Woeful run of results over the past year has got to be the primary reason. There is almost a sense of apathy now knowing that our season is all but over, but our home/away average has inexplicably gone up from last year. We would probably be getting close to capacity if we had made the start that Wolves & Cardiff have had.

It doesn’t have that big Second City derby feel to it this time, and nowhere near the excitement levels of 2002-05. Hopefully a win will reignite the early season optimism and kick-start our charge for the title :animatedf:

How much are tickets?
£30 in the Tilton & Gil Merrick, £35 in the Kop.

No even remotely, but that's just my opinion. The Geordies travel well if they are doing well. Everton are like Leeds, they travel well regardless.
Depends how long you've been watching football, in the late 80s and a fair bit of the 90s Everton didn't travel that well to ours whereas the Geordies always did even in the 2nd tier.

I suppose. Everton have always turned up at VP, but one season Newcastle actually came on a mini bus. I noticed the last few seasons in the prem the Geordies away support tailed off and some games they would take sub 1k. Newcastle do have to travel a lot further than most clubs too, so that would explain some low turn outs.

That's what I mean, your home crowds are up this season. Well tbf that's why it's not selling out then, because your fanbase won't pay those prices.

Looks like there’ll be around 12/1300 of us down at Fulham on Saturday, hoping to see us win away for the first time in 32 attempts!

Does he mean at Fulham?

QPR haven't won at Forest in about 36 attempts.

Yep. Won't make much of difference to the numbers, and we are being charged the same, out of interest what did you charge Leeds and Villa?

It will, we'd have taken a fair few as Sheffield United is a Friday night. Will still probably bring 1,000, I'm U17 for the day only £15 then.

Charged Villa and Leeds £30, Category A.

Be nice if you do bring a thousand. I'll make sure the stewards look out for you on a dodgy ticket :)
