I think that’s pretty normal for them. They bring 2k plus to us whether it be a Saturday or midweek.

Villa is a bigger pull than the blues though.

It’s not normal for us, last few years we’ve had a sell out 2,600, 1,950 and 1,800.

We had 1,800 at WBA midweek, two sell out night games at Villa Park and take 1,500+ to Walsall. It’s a poor following however you dress it up.

Decent numbers from Ipswich, Blades not bad either.

Edit - SF_ meant to quote your post also not VL’s twice.

Our game against Leeds is on the 37k mark now. Probably going to sell out. I do wonder how many Leeds fans will get in certain areas of the ground though. Either way it should be a great game.

I was hoping Villa would have a nothing season so we could be the best supported team outside the Prem, but if you keep going as you are your larger ground and cheaper tickets will blow us out the water. Sunderland could too

I think we've only been the best supported team outside the Prem 3 times since relegation in 2004 but we're finally seeing some Saturday games sell out now. Probs won't be enough to be top dog

Nah, our home crowds are up this season . I can understand why they are now, but even when we were struggling under Bruce this season they were up on last season. Our tickets are much better priced than yours. Expecting 37k v Stoke on Saturday and 40k+ against Leeds. You’ll piss away support though. Even if you had bigger ground, I still think we’d top home support, and that’s with us below you in league. Don’t think Sunderland will top you. Their fans turn up on mass when in prem, but a lot of that is down to the thousands of free tickets they gave away to help fill the ground.

You only averaged a few hundred more than us last season, and Elland Road is one of the least popular away games in the league (wonder what the net home fans figures would be?). And you finished 4th compared with our 13th and you got 23 more points! Mind you, we got to the playoff final in our second season down but we averaged nowhere near 32k! (think it was 22k).

All things being equal though, same size ground, same prices, similar performing teams and I don't think there'd be much if anything in the attendances. Our general sale tickets tend to be limited to £38 in the gods with no atmosphere.

And TBF Sunderland are currently averaging 30k in the third division. Not to be sniffed at that. If their promotion race hots up they'll be getting 37, 38k. They averaged 40k in the Champ a few seasons ago, neither Leeds nor Villa could ever achieve that imo

Leeds maybe could if prices were good and top of the league. Oh and a ground extension

How many do Bristol City usually take to Brum for 1300 to be wank? Decent following in my book.

Well considering it’s one of our closest games, strangely.

1,300 to the midlands is average for us in fairness.

Hope you bring a similar amount to Derby, for you that would be decent number at our place, our average to your place is about 1500, the last few times we have played you.

No mate what will make my Christmas, is taking the piss out of you lot on Boxing Day, and getting 3 points again, you will be sunning yourself anyway, can not wait for Boxing Day, Derby to bring the noise, and take you lot down a peg or 2. Think we will out class you, and come the end of the season you will be top 10 at best.

Maybe, but I reckon we'd need a 50k ground and very cheap prices to average 40k over a 23 game Championship season largely on TV. Even on the back of 15 years of shit, with the Bielsa effect, and way cheaper tickets than we ever got under a decade of Bates, home sales aren't exactly explosive when it gets to GS because only shit expensive seats are left. And they are the same price practically every away fan (righteously) complains about and talks about boycotting, by the way

I reckon if we had exactly the same set up as Villa we'd be about 3-5k up on what we are now though IMO

Also I was wrong (sorry). Sunderland never averaged 40k in the Championship, not even close. The only clubs to get over 30k outside the Prem this century are; Villa, Newcastle, Man City and West Ham twice each, Leeds last season and Sunderland once. Props to Derby for getting 29k odd 3 times though, Pound for pound that's great numbers for Derby who realistically probably have half the "fans" Leeds and Villa have. Forest at home this season too attracting 27k+, cracking numbers considering they're a kind of 4th-8th placed team so far

We had more net home fans last season. We averaged 32k the season before last when we finished 13th , but I think last season our crowds could have been a bit better. Last season was your first average over 30k since being relegated from prem. Sunderland are averaging good crowds, but they went from averaging over 40k every season in prem to having 29k against Derby first game in championship. As I said, they used to have thousands of free tickets in the prem, but that mostly stopped when they got relegated hence the huge drop in crowds. Our most expensive tickets are £33. Our first season down here, they were £37.

1. You won't bring any noise, it will be quiet as fuck in the whole stadium.
2. You won't take the piss in any way whatsoever
3. You won't out class us in any way whatsoever, not sure any team will all season, you might win as we have a habit of losing tight games, prime example being the game at pride park.

Your last comment is the only one that is sensible in any way, however a top 10 finish would be another good season really.

Your opinion, but believe me we will bring plenty of noise, and the game at pp, you was the better team first half, we were the better team second half, if we bring our A game, we will beat you, as we have better footballers, feeling very confident for Boxing Day.

Haha, your away support is not that bad, all things considered anything less than a 1000 is poor, but as you have already stated you have sold 600 already, so you will easily piss 1000, your words not mine.

Derby away to Norwich on the 29th of December, about 1000, sold so far, so they should be close to 1500 when the game is played.
