It all went to shit when I tuned in and seen Jermaine Jenas and Danny Murphy ready to give their analysis on the days football.

I'd have just as well spoke to some bloke down the pub, he'd have had an as good if not better analysis than those two did.

A lot of football fans watch MotD as a ritual each weekend, Premier League fan or not.

I don't. I've watched motd no more than 5 times since we were relegated in 2008.

Kelly Cates and George Riley hosting the programme according to the Mail.

Cates is of course the daughter of Kenny Dalglish whilst Riley is normally found on 5live as a Villa fan and a bigger supporter of rugby league..

I pray that it's BS. Think I'd rather Steve and Leroy than whoever those two are.

I wanted it to be Matt Smith.

Nice voice and a very sexy man.

Kelly Cates/Dalglish I actually quite like. No idea who the other fuck is. It's nice to see something different. Football is huge in this country but the coverage for sides other than the elite 6 in the prem is fucking abhorrent. You should be able to watch full replays of every match on some interactive service from Sunday.

Even the coverage of the prem compared to any US sport is totally a none contest. The idea that you can get 5 minutes of highlights off your clubs site as the best solution for not actually being at the game is backwards when you consider the amount of money to be made in sports broadcasting and cameras already at each game.

we need an American logical idea when it comes to Sports, even their college level is bigger than our professional highlights, however college football in the states is something else, love them or hate them, they sure love their towns and colleges in the states 100,000 crowds for Texas football etc? estonishing

Your Show

As well as every goal across the divisions, the show will be jam-packed with high profile names. Players and managers will be encouraged to join us in the studio each week, or take part in the conversation via Skype and Facetime. A vibrant studio audience of genuine fans will also give their opinions.

That sounds horrendous.

How will they fit in all the goals, advert and studio chat into an hour..

Do we know who the presenters are?

I did read Ian Wright and Stan Collymore were asked but the latter refused to work with "Wrghty"

Other way around wasn't it? I seem to remember some public spat on twitter between them a few weeks back.

Kelly Cates and George Riley, judging by the article talking about them two sensible choices who have worked around football a while.

Applied for tickets yesterday for this seeing as I'm not going to Sheffield Wednesday on the opening day, and got tickets for the first show
We're the featured game as well, looking forward to your expert punditry. You'll be the forum's answer to Steve Claridge - no pressure!

What's everybody saying about this then? Is it going to be absolute dogshit, or decent highlights with minimal chat?

Don't imagine it'll be anything to write home about. Will be a slightly different feel I guess but with the same ultimate feeling. At the end of the day it is hard to make the perfect show when we're talking about 36 games or whatever per week. With the FL Show being on late I'd only ever watch the Championship then fall asleep anyway on the whole.

It's gonna be absolutely wank. Any of these types of shows with a live audience are awful.

Still undecided as to whether I'm going to bother going Saturday.

In all honesty, staying in a pub with a dodgy sky box watching the Wednesday game on some Arabian stream sounds more appealing...
