How do I turn off the chat function? I'm getting annoying chat comments at the bottom of the page. I'm not interested and I can't get rid of them!

There's a disable chat option in the settings, unfortunately it's not working for me.

the disable function does work, the chat thing at the bottom of the page has gone!

It's a new addon folks as the old one wasn't compatible with Xenforo 2.

I will look into it tomorrow and make sure you can disable the box/alerts.

Great, how do I get into Settings- I've found "disable Shout box" under "Preferences" - is this the same thing

No, the disable shout box under 'preferences' is different - tick it anyway - the disable chat option in settings can be seen if you open the shout/chat box, or whatever the annoying bloody thing is called, at the top right there's 3 horizontal lines and next to that is a settings icon (small cog) click on that and a load of check boxes appear, at the very bottom of the list is the disable chat option.

Is it broken? Can type a message but it doesn't display after pressing enter/return.

Seems that way, I can type but won't submit. Will take a look & reinstall tomorrow morning if necessary.

I can't get into it. I have it switched off by default but I'd still like to visit occasionally.

Certain features still appear broken, ie giphy - no data was returned from Giphy.

For now though at least the basics work.
