Probably make the money back by having decent young players that you can sell instead of renting out your integrity to blood the Premier League youngsters. Not to mention the complete irrelevance of it all - if all clubs lose money then you're not going to be at much of a competitive disadvantage.

Out of interest, how do Luton fans feel about their manager? Sorry if that's an obvious question, haven't really followed.

I think you would be hard pressed to find a Luton fan who doesn't like him. He has brought in and brought on a core of young players and has attempted to get us playing a bit of football, which was a welcome change from the latter part of the Still era where he took his style to the extreme. Having seen us this season I think we are probably a year away from being a real top team fully moulded into what Jones wants and I think people are more than willing to give him that time to shape it to how he wants.

He is still learning and has made his fair share of mistakes this year, he still hasnt fully sorted out our midfield for instance IMO. As you may have noticed from his post game interview he is incredibly passionate which makes him incredibly driven but also can be to his detriment. Immediately after games I think he could do with taking some more time to reflect as by midweek he is usually far more even keeled!!!

Thanks. About what I thought to read. I haven't seen anything from the game (cuz B teams) but knew about the stance he took in earlier rounds and saw the interview you mentioned. He was well-spoken but also nice to see someone spend a bit of time actually talking about what happened in the game - rather than about referees and passion and all that shit.

Seemed like a young guy. Also know you are well placed in the league, but didn't know much about who he was.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
From what exactly?

It is in easier words the board at Carlisle saying they will 100% vote yes again unless us Carlisle fans find an idea to replace the £1.8 million the prem funded the comp with this season.

Or in better words......sod what fans think, sod what is best for our club....we will vote for the money

It is a great indicator for me that b teams in l2 will happen one day when enough money is offered, the Carlisle survey pretty much puts in bold about the cash....the youth stuff is a small question on 3rd page

I think this season Luton have been a slightly better version of Appleton's first season at Oxford, when they were constantly trying to play it from the back and getting caught out.

Completely sums up the Prem and the FL's relationship over the last few years.

'We don't like [idea]'
'But we'll give you/take away money'
'Ah okay then we best do it'

It's happened with EPPP, it's happened with this. Its harming revenue streams for lower league clubs and its time the FA grew some bollocks and told the Premier League it's not acceptable.

Completely agree with this. The FL seems to have a complete crisis of confidence about the value it's members bring to the pyramid. As if we should be grateful to the PL for allowing us to exist.

They are consistently embarrassed in any financial or strategic negotiations and they will lose everything (currently youth teams have gone, now the target is set on competitive games) unless they buck up.

So we have a fans forum tonight and Fenty was asked about this farce of a trophy.

His response was all financial. Despite losing all three games and crowds being down we were still financially better off as before we would have had only one game.

He said he wasn't happy that the rules were changed to make it U23 but if it goes back to U21 they will vote for it again.

They spoke to Luton directors and hope to have rules changed so lge 1 and 2 sides can also field fringe/youth players without being fined.

But basically it all comes down to money and fuck it whether fans turn up or not, as long as we are better off financially its thumbs up from them!

He won't be the only one. Don't think anyone gives a damn what we think anymore.

We've made over £100k from this so I can see us voting to give it another go aswell. The attendances don't mean anything, They'll have 60-70k at the final which will probably make it the 6th highest attendance a final of this completion has ever seen. The whole thing has been a joke since all the teams they wanted in it rejected the invitation and we ended up with Blackburn u20 whatever's.

We've sold now 30,000 and they haven't yet been released for general sale.
First sales went to Season ticket holders who had the option of six each which most took up.
The next release was to people who had attended games but were not season ticket holders they again could have up to six each
So we have 6000 left of our allowance and it's for open fans and those other bandwagoners who probably last went to a game last century.
We will easily sell our 39000 , probably take any Oxford don't sell.
The club is so success starved this was bound to happen I think.
We have fans flying in from all corners of the globe to attend this tinpot cup, we are that desperate

Why didn't they just increase the prize money regardless of U23 sides? I'm sure the numbers aren't exactly going to hit them particularly hard in the pocket.

I feel apologetic towards Coventry after we kicked Wasps out of Adams Park and now they are crapping on Coventry, there but for the grace of god go i comes to mind as they could have taken over our ground and kicked us out.

I think you produced some excess semen upon reaching the final and it got stuck under your question mark key.

Happy to admit, well actually quite unhappy, that I was totally wrong about this and seems like we will be supporting the format next season as long as we don't get fined for playing reserve/youth players going forward per Gary Sweets programme notes.

Very disappointed in Gary Sweet about this actually and will definitely be getting in contact about it but if they have got to us then I think it will likely stay.

Very disappointing.

Likewise.

And it was made with consultation with our supporters group, which I find almost inconceivable.

Can we have our £15,000 back now?

Told you, this vote will go through because all they care about is money, fans don't matter as long as clubs make money.

This is not true in our case. If it was all about the money, we would've been a club making profit. Instead our board have invested nearly £40m since they took over in 2008.

They are voting yes because there is money being given by the premier league that is bigger than if the competition remained the same, and also they won't get fined, despite massive opposition from the fans.

Of course its all about the money for all clubs that vote yes to keeping b teams. If it wasn't about money they would vote for it to go back the way it was and lose money

Alas we are supporting it as we made £120,000 getting to the semi-final this season so yes money talks.

Sadly it will hardly matter Tom. Clubs need money to survive so they'll bow down once again and accept the current format. Today's attendance didn't help either.
