I think we can forget last week's results, Arsenal were up against a well oiled machine full of stars and Chelsea were up against a punch bag (no disrespect Huddersfield!). This game will give us a better idea of where both teams are at the moment.
I have to say (genuinely) I was a bit disappointed with Arsenal against City, they really do not seem to have progressed one iota since last season. This is another chance for the players to show that they have moved on.
Chelsea look happier under the new manager, they will be really up to show that they are contenders and put Arsenal in their place.

Arsenal have been utterly tragic at the back. They don't have players comfortable enough on the ball to play out from the back, they aren't holding a line, they aren't pressing as a unit, there is no communication between the fullbacks and the wingers. This is embarrassing.

Chelsea look surprisingly good, I thought it would take more time for them to click under Sarri. Jorginho has been magical.

Crazy game. Chelsea were getting ripped apart towards the end of the half, after looking in fairly complete control at 2 0 up. Two teams who are work in progress, I think Chelsea will regather themselves in the 2nd half and win it when they bring Hazard on. Although nothing would surprise me now.

I'm not sure if the actual central defenders are to blame in this half. For Arsenal, I reckon Mustafi and Sokratis (one of them is shit and the other one is slow) were not protected enough by Xhaka (arguably the worst player on the pitch) and Guendouzi (who's done alright given his inexperience) so the Chelsea midfield found it easy to put balls between the backline and Cech. Saying this, Arsenal's right seriously struggled much more than their left.
For Chelsea, most if not all of Arsenal chances were created from crosses made from the byline and pulled back towards the penalty spot. Again it's the midfielders' job to follow the movement. Can't blame Rüdiger (who I rate as highly as Mustafi) and David Luiz. Azpi and Alonso moreso but Chelsea aren't defending as a unit and it shows.

Been a great watch though. More of the same in the second half please.
