Mourinho's record against the top six is utterly dreadful. He brings shame upon Manchester United, a once great club we used to respect.

He's a fucking footballing coward who's so shit scared of losing he'd sooner play to avoid that than go for the win. It's great to see results like today. He'd have been ecstatic with a point, the only time United show bollocks away against the top 6 is when that point is under threat.

Thought I heard the other day something like Mourinho has only won one game in two years against the top six and only scored one goal.

The fact that you say you thought you heard it makes it sound like a passing stranger whispered it to you and you didn't quite catch all of it.

Decent first half, men against boys in the second. We were bullied. Without Pogba our midfield is a joke, and a 3 man midfield with Mkhitaryan is still a 2 man midfield. He's been awful for a few weeks now, needs to up his game after the international break.

Morata is very good.

Oh well, you can't win them all I suppose! Still 2nd, onwards we march!

Durham mentioned something about it on Friday I believe, it was definitely on Talksport. I'll try and find it as I was out driving at the time and they were speaking of the game.

Thought we'd be ok with Kante back and so it was. Thought we played well, easily the better side and should have won by more. Bakayoko and Morata, great headed goal notwithstanding, were particularly culpable in terms of spurned chances.

Mourinho's United still unconvincing. Was Lukaku even on the pitch?

1 win in 11 and only 3 goals scored against the top six since August 2015.

Yeah but that includes five draws and as we all know Jose actually aims for a draw so that is six positive results from eleven matches. Higher than a fifty percent success rate.

Boy, Jose is good.

Transition to Arsenal 2006-present almost complete.
Manchester United are an elite football club, Arsenal haven't even won the European Cup/Champions League, you simply cannot compare the two.

There are some obvious similarities though. Both have dinosaur managers and neither club wins the league any more.

Mr Mourinho last won the league in 2015.
Mr Wenger last won the league in 2004(!!!!!!!!!!!).

You simply cannot compare the two.

I was talking about the clubs not winning the league anymore, but nonetheless I can see you are in the rationalisation phase. I have been through it. "You can't win every game", "we were a bit unlucky", "at least we're 2nd", "when Pogba gets back...". Excuses help to keep the world, as you imagine it, making sense. But you need a reality check. You're Manchester United, as you correctly observe. Since when has 2nd been good enough? You're supposed to be winners. It's only November and you're "oh well"ing to defeats that leave you eight points off the top. Burying your head in the sand.

Take my advice and just give up all hope and pretence that you've got a chance of challenging for the big trophies. I promise you it will all feel better.

It's mad actually, you've spent almost £600m in FOUR YEARS. You appointed a manager whose only plus point was the fact that he won. He won't play attractive football, he won't develop young players, he will only ever play for 0-0s away to big sides, he might drag your club's name through the mud, but at least he'll win. What if he then doesn't win? How long do you give him of not winning the league before sacking him? Or do you say "it's okay, only one team gets to win the league" and settle for second (or worse), dull football and childish spats forever?

Food for thought.

I know, but you called them both dinosaurs. One last won the PL 2 years ago, the other 13 years ago. I certainly wouldn't put them both in the same category, all Wenger does these days is generate pity.

But maybe you're right, maybe Manchester United are in complete disarray and Mr Mourinho isn't the man to fix it, we'll have to wait and seen I guess! But thank you for your concern!

Where did I even say United were in disarray? You're not, you're just miles off the top. You have put words in my mouth and not addressed any of my points. All a bit close to the bone maybe. Here are some other excuses you can use, from us:
  • the team needs time to gel
  • no-one has a divine right to win the league
  • refs are letting teams foul us
  • we've got some very promising young players. They're going to be great but they can't be world class every game, we've got to accept that. It'll be worth it in the long run.
  • literally one player (usually a full-back) is past it and letting the whole team down. We need to replace him.
  • we've got a new full-back and made a few more signings so the team needs more time to gel
  • this is more of a transitional season for us. Important to just stay in the top four and build for next season.
  • we keep losing players to injury. Once everyone's fit it'll all fall into place.
  • the team lacks belief. A big signing would be a morale boost and improve us on the pitch.
  • just made a huge signing, it's going to take some time for him to settle in though. The team needs time to gel while we adapt our whole style of play.
  • other teams are spending more money than us. It's unrealistic to think we *should* be matching them on the pitch.
  • give it bouldy til the end of the season
Have fun!

A club transitioning to Arsenal 2006-present sounds like a club in disarray to me.

Liverpool are doing worse than United and are equal with Arsenal on points and goal difference.

He must be laughing at something else there.
