Another “Derby” following the Stags last week, this is just as big and positions in the table once again mean nothing.

No injury concerns for Notts (unless something happens tomorrow) so we may well go with last week and Noble starting as he has done a fine job in the middle the last 2 games. Maybe just maybe he is replacing Yates.
With this being a day after the others play we could be 5th going into this, so we can’t be doing any favours and have to win.

2-1 sneaky win with Notts scoring last minute this time.

Nailed on Notts win this. The Direites struggle against the more physical and direct sides recently. Would prefer a draw though.

On be assumption you can't both lose a draw would be good.

Chesterfield fans, how's the guy doing that had the heart-attack? I didn't hear anything afterward as was abroad. Hopefully had a speedy recovery

We haven't heard anything since the post a few hours after the game mate, was responding well to treatment last I heard, hoping no news is good news.

I'm sure asking how a Chesterfield fan is after surviving a near death experience is sufficiently good enough? Unless you're plumbing yet lower depths?

Adam and Viking - get a room.

As for the game, we are entering 'must win' territory now, if we really want automatic. Especially with most of our rivals having what look like winnable games tomorrow, and our next two being against Wycombe at home and Accy away. We simply have to try to pick up three points against the bottom half sides we face in our remaining matches (Chessie, Yeovil, Grimsby) to have a chance of top 3.

I imagine it will be the same side that faced Mansfield. Personally I'd be having Jones in over Dickinson, I think he puts us on the front foot more and that's what we need now, but Dickinson is in possession of the shirt now, Nolan likes him, and he hasn't really done anything that wrong to be dropped.

I'm going for an optimistic 0-1 Notts, and not a great game for the Sky viewers.

Why not ask on the Chesterfield - Lincoln match thread? You know, where the incident happened?

We did. The fan was still in hospital. Easier to ask here.

Hopefully as said above, they've made a speedy recovery. Never good when you've incidents like that happen at football games.

Let me introduce you all to the ‘royal’ we.

Back to the actual game, I’m not a Dickinson fan, he’s vastly improved on last season when he looked unfit. He gets stuck in no doubt he’s L2 solid enough but he’s limited going forward compared to Jones

On games like this where a win is a must, if go with the more adventurous and risky Jones but Mr Nolan won’t and he knows a lot more than me about football

This game being played at 1.30pm on a Sunday is doing us a favour I guess - can't see the home support being as great in terms of either numbers or noise than if it was a 3pm Saturday? We've subsidised travel to £5 so hopefully should have a decent following behind the goal

1300 sold. It's all well and good offering £5 travel great gesture by the chairman. I wouldn't take it up as that means travelling with those who use the official travel. 3 double decker coaches filled for them there will be way more fans and pub coaches of folk paying full price!

We've got to win to have any chance of stopping up, so... It's up to the players now, how much they want it. They haven't shown much fight up to now...

Thinking with the heart only, I think we might scrape a 2-1 win. Kellet and Dennis with the goals

Tbh local-ish derby , decent crowd and above all on TV should benefit Chesterfield in this one. Would be more confident if it was just your normal non televised game.

Both sides, must win. So draw it is.

Another good offer/marketing scheme from Big Al for the fans, and such an obvious one. Not a huge outlay for him, a bit more good press and a better away support

True, but usually it's the longer journeys subsidised. Just seemed a weird one to choose.

Seems weird subsidising a journey that you can make via a service bus.

Anyway, hopefully we can get up for this. A win would be tremendous though a more likely scenario is pretty but impotent football and a 1-3 defeat.

Hey, for someone who lost £1.6m last year owning county is a good gesture. We helped him out a little last week financially, which I'm sure he appreciated - he seems a good guy.

I'll watch with interest but genuinely no idea what result id prefer.

With county at home and port vale on Friday, surely this is the chance if there ever was for Chesterfield to turn it around? Grimsby are clearly on a kamikaze mission so any form could result in stopping up.

Adam back with the financial advice lol, but thanks for helping us out financially the other week on your Big Day Out , but you really need to concentrate on financially helping yourself out. I don’t know maybe by showing up at Field MFI. Your home attendances are a little embarrassing

Back to the game, with favourable results today, watch Notts fail to win and once again miss a golden opportunity to improve our position.

Damn you TV cameras damn you

Now then Adam, you are being overly cocky for the fan of a team with high wages and small crowds that is bankrolled by an owner who has just been slammed by the FCA for a “lack of competence” and banned from having any responsibility for client money :D

Anyway, back to the game, yesterday's results were fairly positive for both teams so three points would be huge for either - got to be playing Shola and Stead up front against the young Chesterfield CBs for me. I think it will be tight either way.

TBF the gesture makes sense when you remember it’s on the telly, on a Sunday. Helps encourage a crowd

Notts are awful. I’ve seen them five times this season and still can’t figure how they are in the top half let alone challenging. Must win Friday now.
