I think Luton are up there as one of the worst teams seen at Sixfields this season! Anything other than a win to us and all of the police would have been switched to a robbery investigation. I hoped before the game that we would take it to Luton and we need this first half. A combination of wrong decision from Holmes & d'Ath and good play by them but poor decisions by O'Toole and Gray meant it was 0-0 at the break.

We started second half sloppy and were punished by Lawless. We quickly got back up to tempo and deserved our goals. Holmes again was superb - how the hell Pompey let him go! At one point he tracked back and then ran with the ball about 70 yards, he is quickly becoming one of the best players to grace our side for a long, long time.

Luton were one dimensional - hoof it to Benson to flick on to Cullen. I thought Doyle looked 2 stone over weight and was lucky not to get sent off. There was no width from Luton and it was a relief not see Guttridge appear as pantomime villian.

Our form is shit and the players confidence must be rock bottom, not surprised in the slightest that we were one of the worst teams to be at Sixfields or indeed that the crowd was quiet.

A fair few on Outlaws are, although as ever it's hard to tell who is serious and who is just trolling. I did hear a text or two on 3CR on the way home saying Still had to go. By and large the crowd at the game were too apathetic to react. The sheer resignation to our loss was bizaare, when the board came up saying 5 mins stoppage time there literally wasn't a sound from our end - everyone had given up. Weird atmosphere.

According to John Still, the referee apologised for his wrong decision in giving a penalty to Northampton, which turned the game. Getting bored of hearing this from officials.

Watching the replay, I could see why he gave it - it didn't seem as poor a decision as others that have gone against us this season (nowhere near it).

It didn't "turn the game" - we were shit before and shit after and deserved to lose. Still annoying of course.

It DID turn the game. We were winning at the time. No, we didn't deserve to be, but the fact is that we were. And I did think that it was just as poor a decision as a large number of others we have had this season. I wish that the 'highlights' would show these incidents so that others could see just how bad they have been. Bad enough for David Allison to confirm the number of blatant penalties that we have not been awarded.
