I may have found a way around Johnny's fit of pique CG. This is a diary thread okay? Soooo, on Xmas day at some time both you and I will start thinking of certain activities, quite important activities that we shall indulge in....with me so far ? Well, these thoughts shall include Boxing day & what great activity happens on Boxing day....why, Kempton of course during which the feature race of the day will take place....it is all part (loosey I suppose) of ones diary & should be permitted in this thread.

Nah, you're right....let's just move.....

All our presents were opened on December 3rd when my Mum came to visit. So the present thing is a non event here.

5.30 am: Wake up
Coffee, then another coffee.
6.30am: Walk the dogs in the park. Clean cat shite out of litter trays.
9.00am: Fry sausages for dogs breakfast.
11.00am: Open the Merlot, pour the Merlot, drink the Merlot.
Noon: Make a fry up consisting of Baked Beans, Fried Bratwurst, Fried Egg, Fried Black Puddings, Fried Mushrooms, buttered bread.
Then at some point in the very early afternoon....
Drink more Merlot.
Prepare the steak and vegetables for Xmas Dinner. Drink more Merlot.
Cook Xmas Dinner (leave a bit of Merlot for the Steak to be sautéed hopefully)
Beer with dinner, beer after dinner and repeat...

May leave the dishes for Monday as I don't trust myself washing them after all that alcohol.

We're ahead of most of you guys, so Christmas is halfway over here.

7.00 Indian Breakfast - "Iddly" & Dal, followed by Masala Omlette.

7.30 Short trip up the hill for a morning's birding to the distant sound of enthusiastic temple musicians, the drummers sounded like they were having a great time in the valley below.

Highlights were Black Eagle, Legge's Hawk-eagle, Black Square-tailed Bulbul, Yellow-browed Bulbul, Nilgiri Flycatcher and Velvet-fronted Nuthatch... and a Malabar Giant Squirrel.

11.30 back to rest-up and freshen up for ........

13.00 Lunch - Fish Curry and Veg Pulao. No booze until tonight.

15.00 Head up to edeg of national park looking for Pigeons and Quail.

18.00 back for shower and get out the smart duds for Xmas Dinner for two

tbc. Currently 13.00 local time.

Fleeting view of the pigeon, otherwise, only highlight was great view of a Crested Goshawk.

Christmas Dinner was Chicken and Coconut Kerala style with a bottle of Tuborg. Up at 5.30 this morning for an early start to Thattekad.

Hoping to catch the Stevenage result after tonights dinner by the lagoon. Today's highlight was a pair of Sri Lanka Frogmouths. I think that'll be my new avatar when I get my own pics downloaded and cropped

You a birder Habbinalan?

Apparently there's been an influx in Waxwing's here because of the harsh winter in Scandinavia.

I'm sure it'll be a barn owl in your neck of the woods. White and silent - unless excited, when it hisses a lot. Should fit in well with the local dogging scene.
