It just seems to happen for teams like Wigan and Blackburn. Every team has chances, even us very fecking rarely. But certain teams seem to find a way through, can’t really be coincidental.

And we have done for much of the season. Injuries and suspensions catching up with our small squad now unfortunately...

Totally agree, but the fact you're comfortably 3rd shows the lack of quality in this league. They are the only two I can see staying up in the championship.

Yes although not to do as well as they have, they had a good core which they added too. Plus they had fire power with Morrison and Gregory. Bolton however I thought were certainties for the drop, which still could happen.

I wouldn't have backed Millwall based on what they were like against us but that isn't really indicative.

You are right of course, but as fans it's the main thing we have to go on. We played Millwall 7 times in 2 seasons and they more or less had the same team, and were never bad against us so that gave me a decent idea. Regarding Shrewsbury obviously I've not seen them as much as that, but in knockout football I'm a believer in firepower over a solid defensive unit. They play 4-1-4-1 which is a very defensive formation to me, like with Fleetwood last year, but maybe Hurst will have a plan b if things aren't going his way. I might be wrong but the way it's shaping up I can see it been like when Sheffield Wednesday beat United to second 5-6 year ago with whoever ends 3rd missing out even with them being well ahead of 4th.

Think you've missed a point there WB. Wednesday got past United for 1 reason. United lost their firepower overnight. Hope Shrews can go up, they deserve it and their manager doesn't seem to make excuses when things don't go their way.

I can't remember the in and outs as we weren't in that division I didn't pay too much attention to them, but I'd like to see Shrewsbury go up as well but it would't be the first time 3rd place missed out, psychology plays a big part in sport.

Ched Evans went away at the end of April, Sheff United were clear of Wednesday.

I’m sure United were still about 4 points ahead of Wednesday with only 3 to play.

That being said, they did make it to the play-off final losing on penalties.

Seem to remember their keeper skying it, can’t remember who it was playing in goal for them that year though.

Wow didn't think the whole Ched Evans sager was so long ago, I can remember Town beating them on penalties though, spawny wankers. Deja Vu last season.
