Well Macclesfield have no ambition other than to 'battle bravely against relegation', as Championship Manager would have put it. Northampton should be aiming to bounce back to League One, or at least not going for someone whose sole purpose seems to be 'steadying the ship' and keeping them in League Two. They could have been a bit more ambitious and appointed someone like Luke Garrard at Boreham Wood.

You think that appointing Boreham Woods manager would be ambitious?

Are you having a laugh?

Who do you support by the way? Let's see, oh you're a Lincoln fan!

So it's no surprise you favour dirty tactic pub team non league managers over modern minded football league ones.

At least Garrard has achieved something in recent memory, in getting Boring Wood to the NL playoff finals.

Well Keith Curle got us to the L2 play offs and L2 is a division higher than the conference.

Oh and he almost got Notts County to the play offs in L1 and that league is even higher!

You Lincoln lot still know more about the non league than you do about the football league.

How many times have you watched Garrard’s Boreham Wood? One of the best footballing sides in the NL last season and I’d be expecting him to get a job with a FL side before long.

Curle is a stabilising appointment, but it would be a surprise if he turns Northampton into a promotion contender.

The last time I saw us play Boreham Wood was when we played them in the FA Cup 5 seasons ago and they were dirty fucking c*** who trashed our away dressing room just cos we beat them.

Much as I dislike B'wood, Luke Garrard wasn't their manager back then.

It's in the DNA of the club to be dirty cheats, it never changes over the years, regardless of who the manager is.

Stevenage are a good example of this, even when Graham Westley takes a break from being their manager every now and then they are still a horrible team.

We can indeed all agree that B’wood are a bunch of c*** and that cuntiness is an inherent B’wood trait.
As for Stevenage, Westley’s DNA lives on in Maamria and is probably now more potent in him than in the originator.

A manager on his way down, then. Always a good idea.

Interestingly, it was announced that our GK coach, Dan Watson had left the club at around 10 this morning, citing 'personal reasons' and by 5pm Northampton have unveiled him as their new GK coach.

Takes about 3 and a half hours to get from Carlisle to Northampton.

Personal reasons in football is obviously a nice way of saying I'd rather be there than here cause they're paying me more money and I like the people there better.

Keith Curle has killed our club for that.

An exciting appointment would have been Stephen Constantine.

Curle is decent though, I thought he was more likely to get the Cheltenham job, would have made sense but they went for Duff whIch is a bIgger risk.

He still applying for every managerial vacancy that comes up in England? Think we actually interviewed him before appointing Curle.
