btw: The German team is the youngest in this "tournament" and Julian Draxler (23 years and 272 Days old) is the 2nd youngest Captain of the German team ever.
Only a guy named Max Breunig was younger (23 years and 230 Days) when he was Captain of the team, back in 1912 at the Olympics against Austria (lost 1-5, silly teams back then ).

Chile is in the Confed Cup Final after a penalty shootout against Portugal (who failed to score all their 3 penalties).

Can't remember a shootout with a 3-0 score. But Chile deserved to win, the curious scene in the 119th minute with 2 goalposts shots, then a penalty denied in the 113th minute (and no interference from the video referees...did they nod off watching this boring match? )

tbh I would be pleased if Mexico plays the final against Chile (isn't Chili con carne a mexican dish? ). So Germany, don't be party poopers. Let the South /Middle Americans play the final..... (I already told about the curse that no Confed Cup Winner has won the World Cup 1 year later...so please lose this semi (OK, if we win it, we could still lose the Confed Cup Final then, but let Mexico try it...)

Clearly to see (even for the referee in the VAR) that this was an intentional elbow check which would be a red card. But no, yellow card. Even the Chilean Jara applauded that he could stay.

Chile is a dirty team, overmotivated (maybe too much drugs ).

Julian Draxler best player of the tournament? WTF, all blind there? He wasn't even the best player in the first match (that was Goretzka) where he got this honour.

btw: Are these neck tattoos fashion in Chile?

Congratulations Germany, there going to be a frightening proposition for the foreseeable if they keep blooding this many youngsters in the Bundesliga. Definitely the favourites at this stage for a World Cup victory next summer.

Excuse me ignorance but is this Confederations Cup a new tournament? I remember it in 2013 in Brazil but can't recall it happening before that.

I heard that, too. No one wants to play in Summer 2021 in hot as hell Qatar and the clubs won't give their players in the winter for a meaningless tournament. So Germany is the last winner of this Cup?

Although I, like many German Football fans, don't rate this Confed Cup high I watched all the (German) matches because this team deserved it. They were highly motivated to play in this "Mickey Mouse Cup" to show their value (and some really made an impression like Leon Goretzka, Timo Werner, Lars Stindl etc All of them only with a handful of caps before. The commentator yesterday mentioned that the German team had only a bit over 100 caps overall whereas the Chilean players had more than 900 caps overall).
