There really does seem to be a dearth of available forwards right now. Panayiotou, Quigley and Cassidy all signed up to NL clubs for next season shows the desperation of some clubs. Seems like teams view any level of experience at this level as preferable to signing players from below. Things are so desperate that Barnet fans are currently begging for us to sign Mikael Mandron - 2 goals and 4 assists in 41 games last season.

It remains to be seen if we will re-sign Byron Harrison too.... He asked Ian Evatt if he could train with us pre-season to get his fitness levels up, but as we are after one more striker we might sign him if he impresses. Evo knows him from his time at Chesterfield and he did well in his 1st season here before his injuries.

To make things worse for you all on the forwards front, we've removed James Alabi from the transfer list, so he is staying put for the time being.

This of course means that no one will be promoted from this league next season.

Of course, if he's going to impress he actually needs to run around a bit, which he wouldn't do while he was here.

Two more..

Aaron Eyoma (Derby u23 - loans at Braintree, Woking)

and our 56th centre-back, the returning George Fowler.

We'll be playing 6 at the back with an average age of 16.

Wasn’t Mandron playing for Colchester last season

Lost another 2 to football league clubs. Brewitt, nowhere near good enough for the football league has signed for morecambe and Zaine who is a good player has signed for accrington Stanley. 4 players of our have gone to football league clubs past few weeks. 2 couldn't get in our team so god know who the scouts are for these clubs but they're not signing the best non league players that's for sure

John Goddard signs for Ebbsfleet, seems a decent quality anyone here got an opinon?
Considering the kind of players were signing, our financial problems seem to be on a more even keel now that most of the high earners etc have departed.

I desperately wanted JG to succeed at Swindon. At times he looked very good, but he was so lightweight and feeble he was too easily knocked off the ball. He has ability and at National League level should do well, I just don't think he'll ever go much higher sadly.

Was pretty poor for us to be honest, albeit in a terrible squad. Seems like a confidence player and had none for us. Very lightweight and end product is questionable.

Thanks for the input guys, time will tell , one good thing is we have Garry Hill in charge and he seemed to bring the best out in him previously.

We he the manager when at Woking? I think that's where Goddard thrived, hence why we took a punt on him.

Craig Robson has left us for the Tamplin circus. He has good anticipation of the ball but my goodness he was slow. I think there’s a fair bit of business still to be completed by us but we still need to offload one or two more before we sign anyone.

VERY unpopular opinion from me. There's a talent there but being a confidence player he needs someone to get it out of him. Would have liked to seen him back in a new system than some of our signings like Rowe etc. Was it under Hill that he had that good season at Woking? If so then probably the best move for him.

Maidenhead sign forward Danny Whitehall, who played a few games at this level for Southport a while back but has since been playing lower league football in the US to a questionable standard in Tennessee and Nebraska, most recently for the ludicrously named Bugeaters FC.

He's looked decent in PSFs to be fair, scored today against Kuwait.

Wolves have confirmed the signing of Hong Wan who we released from our academy at the end of last season. He came on as sub for them against Newcastle today in the Asia Cup. What a joke.

They've also signed Tsun Dai from us for a six-figure sum - purely for marketing purposes.

Meh.

Wes Fonguck has left Barnet with the club expecting him to move "abroad" which means no tribunal fee, though this could just mean Scotland. The club seem pretty pissed off with the whole thing and it's a little bitter in tone tbh.

There's another (very brief) statement on the OS which implies Craig Robson was sacked. Looks like there was more to it than just the Instagram posts as he continued to play for a while after them.

Pools sign Jason Kennedy after his Carlisle release, been on trial with us since start of pre season, we now have about 20 midfielders.
