Fantastic stuff - that opens up the group nicely!

Much improved from Colombia, Cuadrado in particular was excellent and Sanchez and Valencia closed off the space so well in midfield. Were getting deeper and deeper towards the end but that's understandable.

Brazil just lacking in creativity once again. If Neymar can't produce that moment of magic they're struggling. Not sure how Fred keeps getting a game, Firmino was poor and don't know how he missed when gifted an absolute sitter. Coutinho didn't do much after coming on and Willian as most of the time when I've seen him did a lot of running without much in the way of quality or end product. Douglas Costa looked lively again when coming on, surely he'll get a start against Venezuela.

Handbags after the FT whistle, Neymar and Bacca sent off

Once United laid their eyes of Firmino..it was all over.
That Red card for Neymar and Bacca though :fl: Without Neymar Brazil are finished.

First win for Colombia against Brazil since 1991 ironically also the 2015 Copa America. Neymar with the red, looks like Venezuela will beat them now.

Brazil rely on him too much and that's not something that should be said about Brazil.

Not sure what Bacca did constitutes a red, think the ref just thought he had to since he'd sent Neymar off

I don't think Neymar deserved a red, but Bacca did. Whoever that was (Ibarbo?) acted like he go shot lol.
Clearest view I got.

Oh it was one of those, but he clearly moved his head towards him, you can't do that nowadays without getting sent off. Whereas Bacca's was just a push

Lets use some common sense here. Neymar's head barely even touched him (did it even touch him?). Bacca's push was clearly violent. Not sure if you saw but Bacca was picking on Dani Alves for no reason too. For me both deserved the red.

Wide open tournament it seems - no-one has any consistent form it seems (in terms of playing well)

After Aguero scored, the match was much better. Poor approach from Tabarez to try and defend before the goal. Uruguay had a much bigger chance if they just played like they did after the goal, and same could be said for Paraguay in the first half of the other match.
I think you're overrating Uruguay's capabilities going forward. Without Suarez they are very, very shit upfront.

Quite funny that Brazil lost and Neymar got sent off.

I've not actually seen him play yet but he's 22 and has 6 caps. It's probably a bit early to write him off.

I'm delighted for Colombia, a bit of revenge for 2014 and they're right back in with a chance.
Oh, my mistake, I was confusing him for the other Fred who was at the World Cup.

He's been anonymous so far but as you say, too early to write him off yet.

Stretching it a bit, not as if Neymar wasn't making the most of it himself, but yeah looking at it again a red each is about right.

Mental from both but Neymar especially - he could have thrown away Brazil's chances of the tournament. How long's the suspension?

But they created a fair few chances when they finally did attack, Rolan should've buried at least 1.

Argentina do have a bit of a soft underbelly from what I've seen so far, reckon pressing and taking the game to them would be the best approach. When they play a Chile or a Colombia it will be very interesting

They are, but they could have scored twice against Argentina in those final minutes when attacking. Tabarez was probably scared and that's not something you hear from Uruguay very often.

Rolan and Hernandez both should have tied it up.

Brazil played very weakly. And now with Neymar out of the next game things get complicated.

Right time for my thoughts on the game. I'm really worried because I know if we lose this, we go home. Farfan has to play. He looked at a completely different level against Brazil and gave the defenders a ton of trouble. I'm worried about Salomon Rondon. He's a hell of a player and can easily score against us. We need to avoid conceding free kicks in Arango territory also.

Reckon Venezuela will take it buddy. Looked real good against Colombia and they'll want to avoid a Brazil backlash by winning tonight (well, tomorrow morning).

Neymar with the red

Aye you were right after all on the red card for Neymar after me saying he didn't get one. I switched off the stream on the final whistle so didn't see what happened afterwards. Brazil still look way short of being a real threat going forward, and without their talisman for the final group game, they could be up against it.

Good luck to Peru tonight, I can't see me staying up to watch it, been helping with a house moving today and am fucked! :D

Venezuela looked like the better team before the red card, lets see how the game changes now.

Pathetic first half from Peru. Gareca is playing such predictable and limited tactics. We're not winning unless he changes something. Lobaton has been awful so far.

YES!

I'm delighted with the win. Now the group is all tied up and it will all come down to the last day.

I wasn't that impressed by us to be honest. The first half was awful, and I began to lose hope after the 60th minute but thankfully Pizarro scored for us in what may be his last ever goal for the NT. Advincula was amazing today, and Arango and Rondon were kept really quiet throughout the game. Overall, not the best ever performance but all that mattered was the win. Now we have an outside chance of qualifying to the knockouts.
