Someone may have posted this already but even if Satanage are saved from relegation, wouldnt one club have to go up anyway to re-balance the leagues given Bury went bust?

Torquay got the reprieve when Stevenage were denied promotion.

Indeed it was us. And they weren't allegations but facts. The Stevenage chairman phoned ours and asked for a large sum of money not to sell Hayles as they knew they wouldn't be allowed to replace us. The thinking being if they sold their top scorer they would be overhauled by a club with a proper ground.

Stevenage took the league to court claiming they had been unfairly denied promotion (even though they were well aware of the rules!). But then up pops our chairman (the inimitable Mike Bateson) with a recording of the Hayles phone call proving they knew and had accepted their fate many weeks previously. He was (and presumably still is) a canny old git was Mike.

We finished the season 11 points adrift at the bottom with only 5 wins all season. Perversely this is the only season where I attended every game home and away. The "highlight" being the 8-1 home defeat to Scunny!

No doubt we deserved to be relegated but certainly not to bloody Stevenage!

Surely every club in the league needs to do this? How can they not?

God knows how it works with contracts up seeing as we don't know when the season will restart. They are usually up straight after the final game really. We obviously need to release a lot of players but we've got to have a duty of care as well. In summary, fuck knows.

Yeah you'd have to expect them to assist. Teams would drop left, right and centre otherwise.

We have for office staff, but not players/management and a couple of others who are vital to keeping stuff going (presumably media manager and stuff like that). Our owners are making sure all staff get the final 20% as well, which is very decent of them.

Think our lifeline prize draw thing is almost at the full 2,500 people after an appeal as well, that’s something which I think is unique to Notts but other clubs really ought to do.

I can't understand why any team wouldn't be using the furlough scheme tbh.

We have all full time staff have agreed, assume this means the players too. 20-25% pay cut also agreed.

The only two working members of staff remaining at our club are our Chairman and our volunteer media officer. Everyone else including players are furloughed, surely what every club will have to do.

Up until last night, everyone was waiting on the outcome of the PFA/PL/EFL meetings. PFA are basically saying pay players 100% whilst you can, which is a very short sighted, if predictable, view. Clubs may still have cash now, but not for long if there isn't any football played.

I suspect wage deferrals until the season starts again will be the way they do it, I can't see wage cuts. I don't think footballers don't want to do anything, they've been told by the PFA to wait until meetings have been done, hence Leeds still not signing off their player agreement to defer their wages yet.
