You cant just keep changing manager everything at the club is wrong. The board sanctioned too many players for clough who are all garbage yet signed no one this year. The wage bill is obv a problem but either the board need to put more in or were here for even longer thats a fact. Were already 10 games off catching the top 2

Oh I totally agree. Adkins has been dealt a bad hand but he's not covered himself in glory either.

It is ridiculous to look at how much our squad cost and how much wages etc. will be. Bet our board are putting in a lot more than the current top6 but getting a lot less for it.

Because half the match is left, it's 0-0 and anything can still happen. It wasn't as if you weren't in with a chance of winning.

Im not watching a game of football like that it was fucking disgraceful much rather be in ale house.

I actually can't believe I'm saying this, we deserved to win that game, this wasn't like the fortuitous backs-to-the-wall wins like at Shrewsbury and Barnsley, this was a complete performance and a deserved victory to match.

Play 4-4-2 at home and you'll get somewhere, only moaned once today and that was at Adam King so perfectly acceptable, I love entertainment and good attacking play and despite being short on confidence in the first half we improved vastly in the second half and got what we deserved.

Sheffield United though, they'll be here for a very long time if they play like that again, just no cutting edge up front at all, like us but with a bigger wage bill.

Still in the Davis Out camp mind, he'll have to keep on getting results in a 4-4-2 and we'll need to be more of an attacking threat in future games if I'm to be supportive of him again. Players were magnificent today and they deserve what they got tonight.

Id guess at a 10x bigger wage bill. Fucking joke of a club us

Our media man said last season the difference was five-fold. £5.5 million against £1.2 million.

Ours will be over 9mill at the minute at least and were pathetic , c*** just stealing a wage. As for that hammond well what can i say he is truly horrendous i bet hes on 25k too at leicester

Well I had a feeling we'd win this.
Blades all over us for first 15 to 20 mins and it looked like we could get over run but we gradually got a foothold on the game and in the end deserved to nick it I think.

I will say tho...

Callum Saunders was the best bit of today, finally looked up to mens football and a striker who could threaten. Need to get rid of 50p head carthorse Haber to help him, although seems the consensus is Haber played well... baffling.

Colclough probably had his best game of the season and threatened every time he got the ball. I'd play him up front with Saunders though.

Ben Garratt is still a god amongst men.

And Sheff Utd were pretty damn terrible. I mean, so bad they started passing to our substitutes on the side of the pitch. So today doesn't convince me re: Davis. Not that it should, it's one narrow win in a fucking mountain of shite.

Davis doesn't deserve any credit for playing the formation he should have tried in pre-season and should have tried 2 months ago. But today was poles apart from the turgid home shite we've played since the season began. No tippy tappy passing in midfield, no OTT sideways and backwards passing, a threat upfront. Excellent performance, everyone bar King played well. Haber and Saunders will need time to get used to playing with each other, Saunders though looks a really promising player. Had a few half openings that didn't quite fall for him. But it was nice to have someone running the channels, getting into the box, causing problems. Also meant Haber didn't need to cover so much ground and burn himself out with 20 minutes to go.

Coco had a good game, him being dropped seems to have done him the world of good. Inman worked his socks off as per, you could tell he wasn't 100% though. Jones had a good game in midfield, King though continues to be a waste of space. Why does he keep getting picked? Garbage. The back 4 were excellent, reduced a decent set of strikers to pot shots mostly. Garratt had a strong game, although he made some flappy punches late on when he should have stayed on his line.

All in all, really good entertaining performance. Amazing what happens when you select the right players, play them in the right position and select a formation that says "go out and win it boys", not "lets hope not to lose it". Incredible isn't it Steve. Today proves one thing though: we can compete. This puts to bed the garbage argument that budgets mean we have to accept shit negative football. We can compete, this squad isn't relegation fodder. It's about selecting them right, organizing them right, giving them the freedom to win the game. Do that over the next few weeks and we'll pick up wins, no doubt about it.

As for Sheff U, I thought they were the best team we've played at home this season. Not saying much, but they were tough to knock off the ball, had some tidy players and looked a threat. Adams was their best player, gave Turton real dramas all game. Done also caused problems, Sharp though was anonymous. I see a few of their fans didn't take the result well after the game, booing the players and making angry gestures towards them. I can see why they are so dissatisfied, they should be doing much better than they are doing, especially with that squad.

Well, in terms of general performance, it was pretty even. Both sides had a handful of chances, but struggled to create much. But we deserved to win simply because we scored and they didn't. Huge confidence boost ahead of the tough cup game next week. Bring it on.

Sheffield United reminded me so much of us when we're at our worst at times it was unreal, toothless, aimless crosses to nowhere, no attacking threat, basic errors in midfield, gifted us lots of space at times. They were an abomination and should be doing so much better with that squad. Most the opposition we played this season were so much better. Think defensively Southend and Gillingham were the best sides I've seen at Gresty Road and going forward it was Bury by a country mile.

What a rapid decline for Billy Sharp, I actually forgot he played today he was that poor. Sad because he seemed destined to have a crack at the top level a few years ago.

I'll go a bit further, and say we were significantly better than them. Please stick with 442, Steve.

And for me, Southend are the best team we have played this season.

Everyone we've played at home this season were better than Sheffield United yesterday.

Standouts for me were Garratt and Colclough (obviously), Nugent, Guthrie, Saunders and Haber. All had excellent games and it was refreshing to see a forward line up that wasn't constantly isolated or stifled by the formation. It's nice to come away with points and not feel like we robbed the other side. United were toss.

I cant imagine we'd sack him before the end of the season and reading fans forums (which are normally the most extreme) the blame is turning to the board and still Clough. At the end of the day he is, on paper, the best manager we couldve appointed and I didn't speak to one fan who didn't want him.

If we dont go up this season I imagine he'll be sacked

He wont be sacked i dont think even if we dont go up unless the fans turn on him which if any right minded person can see its not just down to adkins why were shit. The amount of garbage players clough signed is incredible and technically we have the same team playing as last year. However the players adkins has signed well lets see.

Billy sharp- needs about 5 clear chances to net 1 but probably will get 20 goals so i suppose you cant argue with that.

Martyn woolford- potentially the worst signing our club has ever made a truly dreadful player.

Then the loan players.

Edgar, hammond and salmon 3 players which have made no improvement whatsoever to the team, a complete waste of time.

I'm not so sure, with Adkins and board stating promotion is expected this season I could easily see him packing his bags.

And the jury is definitely still out with regards to his signings. Although our downturn in form seems to have coincided with Sammons displacement for Done. Could be a coincidence but Sharp was definitely doing better playing alongside Sammon than he is Done.

Personally I'd never bought into the Adkins hype, he had probably the best ever team to play in league 1 at Southampton and finished second with Schneiderlin, Fonte, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lambert, Lallana, Puncheon and they were splashing a lot of cash at the time also. He done a decent job at Scunthorpe but lots of other managers have done a similar job to that.

I mean, every year you have one of the top 2 or 3 budgets in the division and every year people reckon this will the year they sort themselves out and walk promotion but never seems to happen.

I agree that sharp was playing better alongside sammon but i also think matt done has to play hes one of our better players for sure. The away performances are an absolute disgrace at the minute , no wins since august something needs addressing big time and after the peterborough game in august i said if we play like this all season we win the league, we were brilliant that night fuck knows whats gone wrong since.
