Well, no game for us today, so we move onto Mondays relegation scrap with Shrewsbury.

Not a lot else to say other than what was said in the build up the Rochdale game. I'd pick the same team, Inman coming in for Bingham and going with the same other 10 as we did against Fleetwood. With some possibly saving their money on not going to Rochdale, hopefully we'll see a little boost in the crowd for this one.

As for Shrewsbury, they got a bit of a kick in the teeth today, conceding a late equaliser at home to Fleetwood to keep them very much in the relegation scrap. Losing Kaikai seems to have been a blow, made some other squad changes since we last met.

Haven't beaten Shrewsbury in our last 5 attempts, not that confident about ending that run in this one. Shrewsbury have picked up a few results on their travels and their away form in generally decent. Given our awful run of fixtures in January, we have got to be looking to take maximum points from this one. Not sure we will though. Reckon we'll lose 2-1, Barnett and Clark for the Salop, Colclough for us. Many Shrews heading up for this one?

Luckily we have been playing slightly better away from home than at home in recent weeks. We play a lot more on the counter away. This is now an absolute must win game for Shrewsbury, as 1 point from home games against Swindon and Fleetwood really isn't good enough.

Changes need to be made to inject some creativity somewhere. The loss of Kaikai is massive, and Cole being injured is also a blow. Looks like a Junior Brown may be out as well as he limped off today. He's been playing quite well at left back in recent weeks. I'd be inclined to start Akpra Akpro up front, as he may do something a bit different to our other forward options. I'll go for my standard 1-1 prediction.

We were only given an initial allocation of 510. The last of these sold out on Wednesday and now pay on the day. After today there seems to be a general apathy amongst our fan base. Talking to a couple of the regular away travellers today they said they weren't going, which is a general theme on our message board. We may get up to 800 if we're lucky, which will be a pretty poor effort.

A good set of results for us today and something for us to build on with three points against the Salopians.
Home win here.

Sorry, hadn't meant to move this to match day forum. If you two could see fit to draw while we (hopefully) beat Blackpool then that'd be grand. Cheers.

We won't win this game no matter how well we play. Shrewsbury could be terrible and still shithouse a point like they've done last two times they've been at our place. They always get something at Gresty Road.

1-1 draw. Be interesting to see if Tootle's a mardarse again like he was in September.

I doubt we'll even see him, he's not even made their match day squad since the end of October. Sounds familiar.

Great to hear. A hilariously overrated player by a section of our fans who believed that showing passion and commitment (for a time) for a terrible Crewe defence I've seen was worthy of a move to the Championship. Some of our fans would make you think he was Cafu when he was a limited fullback who was, until last season, a positive influence in the dressing room.

I did used to like him but having heard about him being a bad egg in the dressing room last season it made me think he was someone who believed he was bigger than the football club and his post-match reaction in September was embarrassing on his part. He'll be on loan at Morecambe with Duggy and Miller in the New Year I reckon. Cue the barrage of idiots who will be begging us to take him back. I'd rather us play Turton and that's saying something!

Unlikely to see Tootle today. Started of slowly for us but then started to gradually improve. Given the benefit of the doubt having not played for so long. However, since deciding to give Port Vale a penalty at the end of October with one of the most inexplicable and blatant hand balls you're ever likely to see, he hasn't even featured in the match day squad. We resorted to playing a clearly unfit centre back in Grandison at right back, and latterly young Dom Smith who is also a centre back once Grandison was out injured. Another young right back Patterson appeared on the bench on Saturday. Apparently Tottle has been playing in a defensive midfield role for the reserves.

Our team could literally be anything today. Halstead in goal got man of the match against Fleetwood on a Saturday, but the manager didn't think he did much and was partly at fault for the goal. To me that suggests he's looking to bring back Leutwiler after his injury. Was warming up with a face mask at the weekend.

The one thing that is almost certain is Ryan Lowe will score, he always does against us.

Toots was a good League Two defender, didn't really do much wrong during our time in L2, and not half as over rated as Mark Ellis.

Well, that was no surprise was it? Started shite, fell behind deservedly. Got an equaliser out of nowhere and got better as the game went on.

Comfortably the better team in the 2nd half, but missed 3-4 great chances, including a sitter from that useless sack of shite that is Adam King. Lowe also missed a great chance when 1-on-1. Then we make the same mistake for the 2nd goal as we did for the first, we back off. Cracking finish, but shambolic defending. Goalie is becoming a concern, not sure if he should have had the first and his made another dreadful kick for the 2nd. Full backs can't seem to learn not to back off when a winger is shaping to shoot and the management are too clueless to coach them in how to stop doing it.

Colclough got joy down the byline, but kept wanting to cut inside all the time. Again, the coaches can't seem to spot this and get him to go down the outside more. King is fucking atrocious and has been all season, but hey, he scores the odd goal right? Lets keep starting him every week. Fuck off Davis and Collins you deluded pair of fuckwits!

So easy to see why we concede so many late goals and why we collapse all the time in games. Its because we have the board, management and some fans telling the players subliminally that 20th is ok. That surviving is ok. That we can't compete on a regular basis in league one.

Remember back to the first 18 months of Davis' reign. The amount of points we won through late goals was incredible. The amount of comebacks we made. Why? Because Davis had ambition, which projected onto the players which showed in the results. Davis once again peddles his bullshit about the players waiting for the goals to go in. Bollocks Steve, you are waiting for the goals to go in. You and your defensive, defeatist attitude. You aren't alone in that, there are plenty of other weak minded fuckers at this club. But until the club sheds themselves of this weak minded mentality off the pitch, we won't sit it change on the pitch. We had 2 6-pointers and we've got 1 point from them.

Our next 7 games are all against teams far better than Fleetwood and Shrewsbury. Wonder how many points adrift we'll be come the home game against Chesterfield?

Will agree with JJ's summing up of the game, Town dominated early on, the equaliser came out of nothing, then Crewe looked the most likely to win it although we did have a few half chances on the break before we nicked it. Not complaining tho :ds:

Colclough was man of the match by a mile. Gave Smith a torrid time and virtually all of Crewe's threat came from their left. We always seem to struggle when we come up against Haber.

Cole and Whalley played well for us and both deserved their goals. What a change playing 2 wide players! Still think Collins needs a break, looked like he was towing a caravan when put thru in the 2nd half.

I still haven't seen Shrewsbury lose at Gresty Road, which is the last 6 visits there :2thumb:

Oh what a shock, Shrewsbury leave Gresty Road with more than what they deserved for the fifth successive time, after Rotherham in general, I absolutely hate playing them at home.

But Davis needs to go for managing to make our midfield even worse than it was last season, not that he will. That pathetic midfield is the reason Shrewsbury scored twice today and managed to break so easily all game. I'd take Anthony Grant back immediately if we could and shove him in alongside Jones. Jones can't tackle but if he played alongside a ball winning midfielder he'd flourish.

The Alex played well for most of that game, if we had scored 5 or 6 then Salop (or whatever they call themselves) could have had no complaints, we threw everything into that 2nd half. Adam King had a decent game, JJ is a proggs crewe mad fucktard who has to have a whipping boy, his opinion is bollocks, not even sure he goes the games, ginger dick. Anyway, if we play like that for the rest of the season we will stay up, just worry that they keep getting the heart ripped from out of them and it is hard to bounce back, most times it is their own doing, not today though, very unlucky. Alex till I die, whatever the situation is with with the manager, the directors or whoever, the Alex need backing, if you can't do that then fuck off to the Vale or Nantwich, we don't need whiney arsed fuckwits who show no passion at the match but get hard ons spilling their guts on-line.

I think to say Shrewsbury have got away with more than they deserve from the last 5 fixtures at Gresty road is stretching it quite a bit. Crewe were fortunate to get 3 points in the game at Shrewsbury so we are both a point better off had both games been draws which would have been fair results!

Only just seen these posts, now even though it is 3-1 to the Alex at half time away at Swindon this is not a, "what you saying now buddy" type post, this is me saying I give credit where credit is due, if we play well I say so, regardless of who the manager is (who I want gone) and the current state of the board (who I want gone), we were shite against Coventry and have been for a lot of this season, but that won't stop me wanting us to win or praising the team when we play well despite the result. I am sue you will all be wanting the Alex to hold onto the 3 points, I mean, what sort of supporters would want us to lose just so they could say "told you so". Best take my "Crewe rose spectacles" off, whatever the hell they are supposed to be.
