Really not sure what to expect from this one, from what I can remember we have an awful record at Crewe I can't remember ever beating them at Gresty Road.
They seem to be in free-fall and usually when we play a team in similar terrible form we balls it up and play crap.

2 wins in our last 16 league games against Crewe. I was fortunate enough to see our last win there though in 90/91 when we won 2-1 and John Cockerill scored the winner for us. I also went in 88/89 when we were 2-0 up after 5 minutes (2 goals from Steve Saunders) but ended up drawing 2 all.

Can't make it tomorrow but as Crewe are not in the best of form at the minute I'll be hoping for a win to push us back up towards those play-off spots.

Can't make my mind up about going to this one - It's only the other side of the Peak District from me but the trains are ridiculously expensive (£40 for an open return or £30 splitting tickets at Stockport) for somewhere less than 60 miles away. I'd drive instead but I'm worried about the forecast snow causing a load of hassle driving across the peaks so might see how things are tomorrow morning and make my mind up then.

I remember the last time we were at Crewe watching Akpa Akpro turn absolutely unplayable for the first 45 minutes, before our embarrassingly bad relegation bound team gave up a 2-1 lead to 10 men, eventually losing 4-2. Hopefully it'll be better than that tomorrow!

I think that was the game after we ended our long 25(?) game run without a win when we beat Shrewsbury 3-0. I didn't go to the game but listening to the commentary it sounded like we played very well in the first half and I remember confidently thinking that we'd get out of the mess we were in. Unfortunately that didn't turn out to be the case.

I remember my Dad telling me about that game at Stoke, he said the ref blew the whistle a few minutes early because of all the crowd trouble and they all got kept in the ground for ages afterwards as a load of Stoke fans were waiting outside for them for a fight.

Yeah, was an eventful day that. We came off the road on the way there as my mate misjudged a sharp bend and some bloke in a tractor had to drag us out. Reckoned he just drives up and down there everyday as quite a lot of cars misjudge the tight bends. He charged us £20 to do it so probably made a fortune each week. Good job we didn't come off at the next bend as there was quite a sheer drop.

Garry Birtles missed a sitter right near the end too which would have given us all 3 points just before the Stoke fans invaded the pitch and then when we finally got out of the ground the car broke down on the way home and we ended up getting a lift home in an AA van.

I went to have a read at half time and there were already 17 pages of shit, the last 5 or 6 all slagging Bignot off.

Season has been over for ages, both Bignot and Fenty said the Jan transfers were players they wanted in the summer so have built next seasons squad 6 months early, in other words given up on this season.

Good news in one way there won't be massive upheaval in the summer, a shame for the fans who travel to watch though.
Bad news is this team that just lost 5-0 is also mostly next seasons side

Wasn't there but Clements and Osbourne were the two players Bignot signalled out as having any credit today and commentators said in the first half that neither striker had any service so weren't in the game.

Yussef starting last week and this but prior to that wasn't in the first 11. Clements has started each game and think is the type of midfielder Bignot wants but reckon we only signed him because we didn't get Sam Jones, as we got him at last minute could see Jones replacing Clements until Bignots post match comments today.

It says a lot about the level of our display today that your players felt confident shooting from the halfway line.

If Davis was in charge that game would've gone like this:

Crewe attack first 10-15 minutes, if lucky we score a goal, Davis then shuts up shop and invites mediocre opposition to attack us for 75 minutes. We either draw 1-1 or lose 2-1 and Davis will slam the forwards for not doing enough and the pitch for being too hard to play "good" football on at this time of year.

Dave Artell literally set us up to attack Grimsby from the first whistle and it showed. We've been due a result like this for a very long time because our previous boring manager stifled all attacking confidence by overworking the defence and keeper in tight games against poor opposition. Cooper, Hollands and Dagnall all had their best games of the season and Cooke looks a fine addition with his promising attacking play. Was also very impressed with Bowery today as well as he never gave up and created openings for the likes of Cooper and Dagnall to profit from all game.

Grimsby were worse than they were at Blundell Park when we bullied them for most the game there. Defensively, the Mariners were all at sea and despite the experience of Gavin Gunning, Danny Collins and Shaun Pearson (who I thought was very poor against us in September) at the back, they were completely outplayed by our attacking players.

First time since NYE 2011 we've scored 5 in a league game, first time we've scored 5 in all comps since we beat Hartlepool by that amount in the League Cup in August 2012. Just shows you how that awful fraud of a manager before Artell literally starved the attack of opportunities to develop their confidence and abilities and hung our defence out to dry every week. Genuinely believe an attack minded manager could've got the best out of some of the passengers we had in the team under Davis. We'll have an inconsistent end to the season as we learn to rediscover the attacking style of football we used to play, but I'm confident that we have enough in us to build upon this result and steer us clear of relegation.

Also very interesting to note that Artell has introduced double training and about time too! It's about time these players dropped the Nando's instagrams and holiday brochures and worked harder to earn their wage. That way, hopefully we can see a repeat of fantastic performances like today a few more times between now and May!

To think we based our midfield around Clements, no wonder we went nowhere!

Pleasing that we've moved on and got some decent lads in, and chris can hopefully develop at another club down here.

Will be able to see him presumably have a stormer against us next week!
