Probably the 1st game this season in which I'm expecting nothing other than a win. This statement though scares me. It's always when were expected to win we fail to do so.

Not sure what to expect from Cambridge. They started pretty well but seem to have failed off. They were my tip to go down before a ball was kicked but look to have more than enough for a comfortable midtable season.

Our team picks it's self, I'd only expect one change with Jaaskelainen back of international duty.

Jaaskelainen

Ng Lancashire Nolan Pickering

Lowery Wintle Green

Powell Porter Kirk

Subs: Martin, Hunt, Jones, Finney, Ainley, Dale, Anene

Crewe 2-1 Cambridge (Powell, Porter, Richards) 3,988 (250 Amber Army)

Martin on the bench? What is this, 2013?

I agree with you, I expect a win and we know how those games turn out. That being said, I'm not going pessimistic until they give me a reason to. I panicked last week and it was fine.

2-0 win. Would like Porter and Powell bag, it's long overdue for both. I'll take whatever win we can get. Keep the points and wins rolling in.

A game where most expect us to lose but it wouldn’t surprise me if we get something, we’re slightly lacking but we’re not far off a good side.

Crewe are obviously high on confidence and have had a decent start so with all that I’ll go for 1-1

Personally feel us at 4/1 is too big.

We’re surely due a stinker at some point, the fact we seem to be an almost guaranteed win for this is a bad omen.

3-1 loss and a Lancashire red card.

I don't think there's a blip in us whilst we have a fully fit squad. We're good.

2-0 win. Lowery x 2.

I'm expecting a 2-0 or a 3-1 loss, but that's only down to Calderwood's approach to away games, and not because I reckon Crewe are on a different level to us.

I'm well aware there's a big difference between a home game and an away one, and that the team set up and match tactics are planned accordingly. You don't go all guns blazing when coming up against a decent side on their own patch but Calderwood's away day tactics are a bit too negative for my liking. I do get the idea behind the 'keep it tight at the back and then hit 'em on the counter' game plan, which is great when it works. Except that in our case it's clearly not working so far.

I'm not calling for his head or anything of the sort, but I wish he can come up with something different for the away games.

1st half we were terrible. But that game needs to be watched by the FA, that referee should be sacked on the spot and never officiate a game again. Cambridge a bunch of diving, injury feigning cheats as well. Absolutely robbed today.

And fuck off back to Swindon, Olly Lancashire.

He’s piss poor at just about every aspect of the game.
Hard to believe he was Rochdale's captain when they won this league, isn't it.

Have a look on twitter, you won’t find a Crewe fan in disagreement.

Wait, you’re not seriously suggesting the referee wasn’t terrible and you deserved to win? If so, you’re a banker for the least football knowledge award.

Haven’t had chance to watch the game, but I will do.

However, Artell can bemoan the ref all he likes. The ref wasn’t the reason we fell behind early yet again. Or why the most experienced player in the team gets sent off 41 minutes in.

6th time in 8 games we’ve let in the first goal. Unacceptable. Only gone in at half time leading once. Yes, Artell can pin this on the ref, but he needs to address why his side can’t start games and are so poor in first half’s. 4-6 in the first half, 7-4 in the second.

Oh and maybe stop starting Powell and Porter every game, they’ve been dross for weeks.

Crewe win a few games and their fans think they're fucking Barcelona.

Tell me a team in league two that don't try and con the referee's in this league? I've not seen the pen, or the red card but from reports (other than Crewe fans) it was a red and a blatant pen. You'll play worse and win so suck it up like we had to last weekend against FGR.

A great win away from home which was needed to stop the bad run of results.

Edit - I've seen the pen, looks a clever won pen but wouldn't be happy if that was given against us. The defender gave the ref a decision to make though.

No one thinks we’re Barcelona other than Grimsby fans last week.

I predicted we’d lose and have a man sent off, but I didn’t predict the ref would give you the game, yet he did.

If he was the referee we had against Cobblers which apparently it was he was absolutely woeful.

I’ve noticed almost all the referees we’ve had recently are in their first season at this level.

Thought 4/1 was to big!

Just seen the highlights and and can see why Crewe are annoyed, red could have gone either way but Hannant has blatantly looked for the pen. As for the game I haven’t a clue whether we deserved the win or not, just pleased to get the 3pts after Oldham and fgr games.

Pleased for smith to finally get a couple of goals, thought he took his first well.
Hoping Carruthers injury isn’t that bad and would be interested to know whether it was because of greens tackle or not?

Hannant is a very clever player. Probably doesn't help that he's ex Vale so the Crewe fans were even more seething. He was very clever to win it but like I say, the defender gave the ref a decision to make as he didn't win the ball.

The ref hasn't lost you the game. We scored a good goal to make it 1-0 and 2-2, you just didn't get the rub of the green in two decisions that could have gone either way. That's football.

Blatant dive from Hannant, not great, not something I can recall us doing for a few years. Red card looks questionable too. Good fight back though, was ready to break into a fit of rage when we went 2-1 down, plenty of United sides of the past would have given up the ghost at that point.

Glad Smith got a couple, need one of the strikers to start scoring consistently. Doesn't look promising for Dallas, which is a shame, especially as we paid money for him.

I didn't go the game I got dragged to West mids Safari park with the wife and kids instead.

Just seen the highlights though. Two completely incompetent individuals stood out. The 1st Olly Lancashire for the Cambridge 1st goal, that defending is inexcusable. Then comes the star of the show, the referee. I'm not even convinced the Green challenge is a free kick, not a chance is it a red. Surely we have to speak that, as I would like to be without Greeny for 3 games. Then comes the penelty. The ref could have a better position, but yet some how seems Ng doesn't get the ball. Unbelievable, truly unbelievable.

Credit to Cambridge though, they certainly test us today and capatalised on some of our sloppy defending, but they owe the ref a big one for that victory today.

The tackle for the penalty was clean, hence the outrage and abuse I’ve never seen before for a referee at Gresty Road. Just another of Hannant’s dives on the day, should have been booked for his 1st in the first 10 minutes, but he got away with it all day, as the ref was shit. Robbed. Anyone who went knows that, take the amber specs off.

Just seen the penalty incident. The referee actually has a great view so hows he given that! Cleanest tackle you will see, Hanno seems to be enjoying it on Twitter mind.
