Expecting a decent game here. We are very good at home and they are very good away from home. Also two decent footballing sides so it should be a good watch. FGR are comfortably in the play offs and still have an outside chance of the automatics. Whereas we have adjusted that we'll to having nothing to play for were now on the verge of something to play for, although it would take a very strange lot of results for us to have a chance. I'd take going into the last game with a very outside mathematical chance, which would mean hoping we win and Exeter and probably Newport don't.

Crewe 2-2 FGR (Porter, Kirk, Doidge, Brown) 3,320 (200 Vegans)

I've written the script for Perry Ng scoring in the 95th minute against Grimsby to put us in the play-offs ahead of Carlisle.

I can't see how any other outcome is possible.

It's so set up to be a really decent game you sort of know there's going to be a ridiculous sending off twenty minutes in to spoil it.

After having Trevor Kettle and whoever the tits were on Monday in recent games, could really do with a quiet ref. Preferably one who knows the rules of the games. Had our fill of make-it-up-as-they-go-along refs for now.

Thankfully (?) Artell will be in the stands for this one as he got a red on Monday. May keep things a bit calmer on the touch line at least.

Yeah it would definitely spoil it, we're normally shit v 10 men and play like we've had 3 off whenever we get a red.

As long as that doesn't happen this could be a cracker. Two footballing sides who know nothing less then a win is good enough.

Good luck Crewe. You haven’t had the pleasure of Forest Green before. Be prepared for an eye opener. You are about to see the masters of shithouse football and the most pathetic away support imaginable.

Neil Hair your ref. Sent Ridehalgh off in the first minute of last season's play-off final. Might clamp down on Forest Green time-wasting if they get ahead.

Lighten up Reremnart.
Good chance our two teams might meet in play offs.
Keep your energy for that and this weekend concentrate on Tranmere v Bury.
And I wish Tranmere good luck - hope you smash them. That would be good for both our teams.

God I hope not, we Just stick to the plan. I think our support might be fired up for this though. Finally our home support has caught on with the possibilities. I'd imagine a few more will travel on Saturday.

You just can't know how the players will react, given the play-off goal has been achieved, will one of two switch off? Hopefully Crewe will get complacent after some good performances! What ever, we need to stay injury and suspension free. This should be a great exercise in how to manage a good footballing side, or not!

To be fair, we did have FGR last season but they were a very different proposition. They were pretty bad both times we faced them. We were leading in the away game before our standard collapse at the last minute to lose 3-2, this when we were dire and near the bottom ourselves.

Then in the return game, we won 3-1 at Gresty Road and it wasn't all that close.

Expecting a very different game this time around. Sounded like we did ok in the away fixture, just lacked cutting edge. And to be fair, that's been our issue away from home all season. I'd take a point right now, but we usually match up well against footballing teams.

There isn't the bad blood between the 2 teams like there is between them and Tranmere. The atmosphere will be like a pre-season friendly, Artell isn't there to annoy Cooper, I doubt they'll be many meaty tackles etc. So I'd be surprised if FGR resort to dirty tactics.

Going for a 1-1 draw.

We're one of the cleanest sides in the division, and also one of the best footballing ones. The only team that ever whinges and accuses us of dirty tactics is Tranmere. Probably because we always beat them.

Didn't think Forest Green were a dirty side in the recent game, but there was a lot of cynical time-wasting.

FGR didn't timewaste particularly or cheat against us despite clinging to a 1-0 lead until very late on.

Compared to Stevenage it was chalk and cheese.

A neutral view from our game...

"As a neutral, I was surprised at just how passionate I became over this match. In the early stages of the game, Forest Green were guilty if anything of overplaying. They indulged in a neat passing game, but not really getting anywhere with it, if anything playing themselves into trouble at times. However, once they took the lead, early in the second half, the 'dark arts' came into play. Real Jekyll and Hyde stuff. The amount of play acting and cynical gamesmanship had me as worked up as those around me as Tranmere desperately searched for the equaliser that never came. "

That would be even funnier if it was from a Lincoln fan, whose goalkeeper lies down on the pitch in most games so his team can have a "tactical break"

And your team's fans have a reputation of spitting at and on opposition players.
The accidental breaking of seats is nothing compared to that deliberate disgusting act.

I'm sure our goalkeeper will be okay. And even with one good leg he managed to keep your team from scoring.

I deleted my previous post, but there is no question about the seats being deliberate. There is clear video evidence. It's with the police, and that's the end of it as far as I'm concerned.

Stop being a dick Pablosammy, enough Tranny wums around on social media as it is. Don't be like them.

Our fans and team are amongst the classiest and best behaved throughout football. There is clear evidence from our club photographer that shows it was your shite seats that were the problem.

Thanks for that. But it is your guys who bring up the subject.
I'm amazed at Tranmere's reaction to this game. After Wembley everybody at FGR thought what a brilliant set of fans you guys were. Everybody I met took the defeat on the chin and wished FGR well in the Football League.
You know I enjoy my visits to Prenton Park and will almost certainly do so next time, and the times after that. I can only presume Tranmere expected to win game after that terrific run they had and FGR spoilt the party.
But we both know that this spat will only be temporary. Because the clubs are not traditional rivals and after a few games against each other in League 1, with honours even, this will all be forgotten.

Might be a while... we still talk about Martin Allen's Notts County in hushed tones around these parts... :fl:

Anyway, a bit of needle adds an extra something to a playoff game. See you all soon.

Ironically it was your club photographer who recorded the video that caught him in the act! Maybe he's not a regular... as I've said before all the FGR fans I've met in person have been top drawer.

You can see the above character in Daniel Butterly’s Tranmere vlog on YouTube just after FGR score and he does appear to be smashing f@c£ out of the seats in front of him.

Yep, he's not remotely off balance in the clip I've seen! Anyway, I'm ruining yet another thread. Apologies to the innocent, I promise that's the last I'll say on the issue.
