You can probably forget the nice football game today. It's horrible, wet, cold and windy. Infact it's not stopped raining since I woke up and not due to til after the game. Luckily our pitch tends to drain pretty well, we've not had many off due to waterlogging, but it could get touch and go.

I'd love to take the roof off the away end today though, let the FGR fans have the same experience we got last season.

Oof, seem to have started OK but turned the ball over in midfield and punished and Crewe just had it in the net again but chalked off for a foul.

And now Reid had one chalked off for handball at the death. Christ :D

Bit of a sickener at the end if our commentators were right and the ref got that wrong but ought to be able to see it out 3-1 up when we were.

Brilliant stuff, love this team at the moment. So frustrating though. As I strongly believe we're comfortably good enough to at least be in the play offs. Our home form has been exceptional all season, and since the turn of the year our form has been half decent also. Hopefully we can hang onto the likes of Ng and Kirk and have a real go next season.

Our commentator reckoned Kirk's finish for your third (? ETA no, the lob for the fourth) was a peach despite the initial ball being a bit of a gift.

Means I get two more Rovers games while I'm briefly back in the country for first time in ages though, but will Charlie pay my bus fare?

I've only just gone and realised that FGR would've been level on points with Stags and MK if they had won today :ffs: Christ what a missed opportunity.

We aren't good enough for the play-offs, simply because it took us until Christmas to play like we were. How can we go from a 50 point pace pre-Christmas to a 75 point pace since. Ridiculous. Also, our away form has been cack all season, drawing with Morecambe, Macc, Cambridge, losing at the Vale. Only ourselves to blame for seeing a mostly positive season not lead to more.

Think Kirk has all but sealed a move after today. Fair play, still think his all round impact needs work, but can't argue with his production. Be tough to replace that in the summer. Should get a tidy fee for him, teams usually pony up for goalscorers.

Finish strong next week and aim to go one better next season. Things looking up at least.

Lads, lads, lads and everybody. We’re going places. Don’t worry about this transition season. We are a top 7 team next season. Even losing Perry and possibly Kirk (not convinced he will go tho), with Ainley, Dale, Lowery, Porter going forward, Wintle and (a actual match fit) Jones in midfield, just need to sort out the defence over the summer and we’re good to go.

Owen Dale today off the bench and turned the game on its head just as FGR were in cruise control. Artell will no doubt reward him with an extra warm space on the bench next week.

Glad we punished the cancer of the game sweeper keeper, play it from the back bullshit. Knew it was going to bite Forest Green in the arse at some point.

Forest Green have blown what will be their only ever chance of getting to L1.

It's because they don't eat any meat!

Haw haw haw.

We all hated Kirk after his antics at Gresty Road earlier in the season. Suddenly we have discovered he`s not that bad a lad after all .

However much they can argue about a potential equaliser, it should’ve been two nil before the referee gave something only he saw after the FGR keeper decided to punch rather than catch. At times they moved the ball well but got to go away thinking if the away form was better where could the Alex have been.

Since Christmas Day (ie second half of the season) we’ve been the best team in the league. Stats prove that. Away form has steadily improved, certainly not the best but if we’d had the same away record in the first half of the season as we’ve had in the second half we’d be comfortably top 7.

It’s irritating but at the start of the season I was all for settling for a lower mid table finish and just not getting involved in the relegation battle. Glad we’ve exceeded that.

Super impressed with Artell and Lunt’s learning curve. They were extremely raw when taking over but compared to the way they managed 12 months ago is awesome. Still a few clangers (that Vale line up ffs) but we’re onto something good imo.

We’ve got a great core to the team, even with the expected losses. Slightly nervous for the summer and getting the right players in but at the moment I can’t wait for next season. We’re in for a good one.

Crewe money better spent on getting a roof over their dug-out area.
I saw them all freezing their nobs off.

Does this mean Artell might finally stop spouting nonsense or will it just get even worse?

Just re watched the goals. Some high quality goals and bits of football bar the comedy OG by FGR but even that was a good ball in by Kirk. Kirk's winner seemed to get the plaudits but our 1st was class. Brilliant play by Lowery to get away from about 4 players, good cross by Green and a classy finish by Porter.

that was a meaty encounter , to see crewe spanking fgr oops wrong phrases there . the footballing gods had a emergency meeting after the tranmere v cheats game and decided justice was needed ,,,, to see fgr thugs trying to hack down crewe players and miss and crewe score was poetry ,,, the own goal laughable , the keeper making a hash of the clearance for the 4th ha ha must have been his ghost injury from tranmere game , and to top it off a rightly disallowed goal . take a bow crewe well done , swa swa
