JFH was reportedly on a salary of £40k pa at Burton. Dunno about what Walsall can or did play their manager but you'd assume it's much more than that. Maybe they'll feel able to spend more this time, if needed, as JFH didn't really need the money. Both of you been compensated for your managers too?

As for us & Deanosaurus, I imagine he was on a salary of around £150k pa.

Really?! Most managers earn six figures!! I read somewhere that even Martin Allen is on six figures at Barnet FFS!

Smith was reportedly on 1.5-2k a week - roughly £100k a year on his most recent deal that he signed a few months back.

Bonser 'apparently' on good sources stuck a clause in his contract stating that any club wishing to speak to Smith could only take him if they paid his contract out on a 3 year basis, after Smith had asked for a contract clause stating he could speak to any club that approached him in the aftermath of us rejecting Rotherham speaking to him - meaning that we got roughly £300k for Smith from Brentford - not sure how reliable that is, but it got touted by people quite a lot and seemingly with more knowledge than me.

I wish we would spend it on Tisdale - but Bonser has never appointed or searched for a manager who is currently in work, so it won't be him.

Seems like we've agreed a deal with Danny Wilson and he'll be announced as manager in the morning. Not my first choice but he'll be better than Saunders and will have an element of additional goodwill as Spireites of a certain vintage will recall him in a Blue shirt.
The fact he's been a Chesterfield resident ever since at least cuts down on hotel/relocation costs.

Wouldn't have been my choice but it really has been slim pickings and non of the names "linked" inspire. Hopefully Dave Allen and the Turnip have learned their lesson and it's initially just a contract until the end of the season.

Certainly a notch up from Deanosaur but we're in a mess and i'm not sure what he can do without being allowed to strengthen the team. 20th place at this point would be a massive success.

Dont think Danny is a bad appointment tbf, certainly an upgrade. Personally think we'd have gone up by now with him still in charge but he really should have gotten us promoted that season regardless of Ched.
