We're not losing games, but by God we're not winning either.

Something has to change or we can say goodbye to any lingering playoff hopes. A new striker is set to be in for the Oldham game on Saturday, and hopefully Varney will be back as well. Heaven knows we need him.

2-0, both penalties in a game I don’t think either keeper made a save. We were dire as we are every week at the minute and Mansfield had all the ball without turning that into anything that threatened. We can’t even shoot and still win, still near the top, you lot are so so bad if we’re up there playing like this.

Completely agree, another team and another game that further adds to how poor the division is.

Not complaining about the result like, we were dreadful too but you managed to take advantage of two mistakes and get the penalties.

Had an absolutely belting time in Bradford, beers, beers, football (unfortunately) beers, curry then more beers, excellent.

The football was just terrible, I was surprised by how average Bradford were, yet easily came out as deserved winners - were just dire.

GC has so much work to do in January, we showed some signs of life yesterday but the end ball and the movement were something I’d expect to see in the conference - like when footballers don’t actually know how to play football.

Decent away following again, once again let down by the dreadful players.

Sadly a mansfield fan had a heart attack and passed away just before the game I believe, RIP and sad time’s for his family.

It was such an awful game, wasn’t it. I actually left early and missed the second pen - my eyes couldn’t take much more.

At the minute, given injuries and illness, we’re having to play players in their unnatural positions. That, coupled with Bowyer playing every game not to lose, it’s becoming incredibly tedious on the eye; but we’re still picking up points - a point off auto places with a game in hand. Mind boggling.

Decent numbers from Mansfield.

Which curry house did you go to?

Sad to hear about your fan - RIP.

Absolutely no idea, we were all rather tipsy at the time so it took us about 25 minutes to find it despite it being 5 minutes away. Wasn’t all that far from the town hall as we were at the jury’s inn

Fair enough.

There’s some absolutely shocking curry houses in and around the town centre. It always makes me laugh because away fans tend to visit these shit holes and claim they’ve just eaten the best curry, when in reality it’s just dead cat dished together with slop.

Tbh they could have fed us dead cat in the state we were in, it was only £12 for a biriyani, naan and a beer

We stopped in Brighouse beforehand, about 5 coaches.

That single kiosk for 1200 people though at the ground :bl:

Beech isn’t doing too badly all things considering. He can only work with what he’s got which is an absolutely horrendous squad, so 1 win and 3 draws in his first 5 games is an achievement.
I'm feeling quietly optimistic about Beech. I've been impressed so far by his methodical approach to notice weaknesses and do something about them, including making effective substitions. Doesn't strike me as having the downfall a lot of our past managers have had in trying a failed system over and over hoping for different results. Hopefully we find out in the next month if his recruitment game is as good as his tactical game.

Well loads of folk caused themselves that issue, they were in the big queue as that was for cash, those to the right were for tickets which had been purchased.

The queue to get in was 150 deep or so, but we just walked straight in as had the tickets previously.

Though it was 1200 Think Bradford slightly underestimated the following, folk were standing in aisles etc throughout the game

We papered over some cracks today with the last minute winner.

First half great but we couldn’t make it the 3 or 3 or 4 it should have been. This appears to be a common problem.

Second half I thought we got outplayed despite the Westley time wasting for the last 15. Fortunately we scrapped a goal at the end.

The table looks good for us. If we were to win our 2 games in hand we’d go 2nd I believe.

Also very important to note:

Prior to today we’d played 10 of the top 12 away from home already. Not researched it after today’s results but I can’t imagine it will have changed drastically. When we are so good at home I’d say this is a very favourable stat and actually look very well set for a promotion challenge.

Swindon next will be a good indicator! Ideal that Doyle is now on a drought prior to the match.

I'm a bit fearful about our game with you to be honest. against Vale we lost our left back Iandolo to a bad ankle injury and captain Matt Baudry went off with a hamstring injury. Added to that Keshi Anderson (who scored a hat-trick boxing day) went off with a quad injury. Zeki Fryers has already missed 2 games (he's been excellent at CB). No idea what defence we'll be able to put out, but with Zakuani in the side it means we don't have any cultured Centre backs which means we'll probably have to play more direct which doesn't suit us at all.

Its a good time to be playing us for sure.

An unexpected but welcome 3 points. Certainly seemed more competent and less naive than we were under clown Pressley. Wouldn’t say we were the better team because Walsall missed an absolute sitter first half, but once Walsall went down to 10 only one team was going to win. Was a red card as Mckirdy would hav been clean through to surely score, so a bit of justice in the end.

Important 3 points ahead of our severe beating on New Year’s Day at Crewe.

We all take our football seriously but now and then something happens to put it back into perspective. R.I.P.

Our kiosks are franchised out on long-term contracts. Whether we sell all the pies or just sell two, we receive the same amount of coin.

There was officially 143 empty seats in the away end.

I am shocked as I knew the guy personally outside of football as we both do volunteer work together for Notts County Council and sometimes sit with him at away games. I saw him before the game. He actually became ill in his mates car after the game just outside the ground.
Valley Parade is a strange ground, you pass through the away turnstiles and then have to climb what seems like Mount Everest , then you have a shock to find that you are only at pitch level. Then you have to climb again to get to your seat.
I saw him as he passed me on the final climb to his seat and he didn’t look well even then.
It gets you thinking when he is same age as myself.

A mate of mine (andy Betts) now lives down in Weston super mare knew him from their days at rolls Royce so he was equally gutted.

Tragic when events like this happen

It is indeed.

From the same road to my seat in the upper Kop, I have to climb 303 steps - and that’s only half way up the second tier - 10 flights.

303+ !!! , goodness - only need the players to do that twice then that's training sorted for the day !......i find it incredible that elderly/overweight people are expected to deal with that without any consequences for the fan or club ?

If you venture around the top end of the Valley, over to the West of the stadium, we have much easier access points. The further West you head, the less steps you need to climb - although, you still have the hill to climb outside.

Inside, there are numerous lifts, so no bother really. Hence why the West Stand (main stand) is generally where the oldies sit. Sorry oldies.
