Just throwing this out there - feel free to ignore.
I wanted to ask fellow L1 fans if they believe they have a future England international within their ranks at the moment - whether they be on loan, permanent or among your youth teams?
The thinking behind this is that each club states a player they genuinely believe has a chance of an England cap in the future, and I'll list them club by club in this OP.
Perhaps a MOD can pin this thread and if the forum is still as active as it is now in a few years time, we can have a look and see whether we were correct in our views?
Lets not list a shitload from our clubs now, because that would be silly - we are in L1 after all.
I'll start the ball rolling...
Oldham Athletic
Connor Ripley (GK) - Currently on loan from Middlesbrough, has kept 11 clean sheets this season in a team that has been in a relegation scrap from the very first game. A massive reason why we have such a good defensive record and a massive reason why we aren't looking up at Coventry. From what I have seen so far this season, I don't believe there's a better GK in the division. There's absolutely no chance we will have him beyond this season, and if Boro go down I can see him taking their #1 jersey in the Championship as Valdes will likely head to America or something like that. Even if they remain in the Prem, I can see him being their backup keeper at the absolute minimum. I'd go as far to say that he's the best GK I have seen put on a Latics shirt from memory.
Oxford United
Ryan Ledson - Current England U19 International, looks to have some very decent potential. Whether he will make the full England team, it is a long shot, but if he fulfils his potential then he will play in the Premier League. Quality defensive midfielder who has a real desire to play as he chose to leave Everton, as unsurprisingly, his way was blocked into the Everton 1st team. Just like John Lundstram did as well so a positive in that both aren't just about money, they want to play.
